I think that everybody will agree that the LA show rocked!!! They played a lot longer than I thought they would. They opened with BDM, awesome! They played a good mix of older stuff along with tracks with My Foot. I met a lot of good people at the show. I even met a few guys from Instant Music forums, sweet. It was funny, I knew everybody's name but since I don't post, no one knew me. Oh well, it was good seeing you guys

But yeah, that show was so great. Thank you Scott from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry I didn't get to thank you last night, things were so crazy and it was stupid hot, maybe I die soon, ha ha ha.

It was actually the same guy that screwed shit up. The first time, he got up on stage between a song and he was trying to shake hands with the band. Sawao was scared as fuck cuz he was doing something on his pedal board, IIRC. He then shook hands with Jun and proceeded to Manabe, where he jumped off the stage. Right in the middle of ROSS, where shit was already crazy anyway cuz of the song, he got up on stage again, and put his arm around Jun. Jun was actually pretty cool with it, from my view at least. However, he goes to Sawao and he puts his arm around him, not grabs his guitar. This pissed off Sawao. He completely flipped. Sawao threw down his guitar and started to chase the guy behind Manabe where the guy jumped again. (I was over by where Jun was). I had people telling me, including Chris (Indivi) that when he jumped back to the pit, people spread out and didn't catch him and he fell face first. By this time, the pillows had already stopped playing ROSS. Manabe was looking at the guy and just shaking his head, while Jun and Sato kinda were just looking on. Sawao went over to his mic and shouted something at the guy in Japanese, which I heard was something like "What the hell are you doing?!?!".

Sawao had just lost it. I'm sure he was gonna fight the guy. I also was afraid that the band was gonna walk off the stage. They didn't do anything for about 5 to 7 minutes, just to let shit calm down. Sawao just started tuning his guitar got back up and said something to Manabe and Shin. Manabe says to the crowd that he was praying and Sawao kinda shook that off. So we only got half of ROSS and got an excellent performance of Last Dinousaur, which I'm sure Sawao used to let off all that anger caused by that guy.

After the show, the guy waited around for the band to come out. I'm sure he did that so he can apologize, cuz I was standing behind him. And the guy that Indivi was talking about, I don't believe he was with the band. Because he was waiting around for the band as well outside, otherwise he would have been inside. So he's not their manager. I think their manager was the guy that was testing the mics right before the pillows went into the first song. Anyway, that other guy totally went off the asshole saying something about Japanese culture that I didn't quite catch at first, but saying that the guy had basically taken a shit on Sawao face by messing up his performance. Sawao had realized that it was the guy and I thought he was gonna punch him. The other guy telling him off was saying that he should get on his knees and beg for forgiveness (not because it's Sawao, but for what he did, especially since like the guy was saying, had something to do with Japanese culture. I think the guy was Japanese since he was saying all this). The asshold got pissed cussed the other guy out and he told Sawao that he felt like shit and left him a towel. He left the crowd and he punched the wall of the Whisky yelling out "FUCK" while other fans were cussing the shit out of him behind us. Sawao just threw down the towel like it was nothing.

I had fun. I was actually kicking it with gekigangar3 and his friend. They were really cool. I met up with Kimi, met tofu and another lurker. I also met Red and his friend. I met jou-chan. As well as Talis and of course, Kaze and his friend. Everyone I met was pretty awesome.

I pretty much yelled Swanky Street the whole night. I even made a small sign from another wall poster. I don't know if they saw it.

It seemed as if the favorite shirt of the night was the Rock'n'Roll Sinners shirt, because practically everyone was wearing it.

That Eleking cover by Broadcaster was amazing. It was really well done. I even told the guy myself, who actually came later and told me that the pillows were playing PROPOSE. I thought it was catchy and even a little bit different. But not too much. I guess it's cuz I don't remember it too well.

I saw 3 people with FLCL shirts.

I got 4 sticker sets, all the shirts and the last copy of MY FOOT. This was probably a mistake since I didn't have a bag with me.

And I didn't take too many pictures cuz my camera batteries died. Oh well.

And yeah, the band did come out after about 30 or 40 minutes of waiting for them. There was some guy that brought his Cyclone to get signed. I got my copy of Living Field signed, as did Indivi. Manabe and Sawao were amazed and even said "Oooo, old album!" Shin didn't say anything, mostly cuz he was being badass and taking a smoke. One of their road crew was filming so maybe I'll be in the DVD!!!

And there was no shortage of cute girls there.

I'm curious what about the culture makes thatt such an offense. Obviously it's a shitty thing to do, but it sounds like Japanese performers take it even more seriously than a western band would. Nice job, duder.

Sounds like a cool show otherwise, though. I hope someone got footage of PROPOSE.

There was one guy that had a video cam. So I'm sure that shit is already on YouTube.

Also there was this one fan that stuck around for autographs and he had a particular copy of TYMT. It was packaged as if it was a single, but it had the same cover, only with all the song names and album title on the front. He told me he had never seen it before and he got it off the internet.

well sounds like the show rocked hard except for the dumbass. i really hope that guy gets his. and hopefully sawao knows this is a totally isolated incident. the fans in the US/Mexico have been nothing but awesome from what i've seen and have never meant any ill will. hell, at the chicago show some girl even gave sawao a boquet of flowers!

but no video of PROPOSE is up on youtbe yet, although there is an interesting video of the preadators covering nirvana. anyways, i hope someone gets an mp3/video up soon of PROPOSE. i'm dying to hear it! what was it like? was it pretty hard or something more easy going? was it a short song too? just curious

That's true, but it only confirmed the fact that they're catering to the FLCL fans, as opposed to the fans who've been with them since they started out. I have nothing against FLCL, nor do I have anything against the songs they used. But I'm rather disappointed that they use it (for the most part) as their primary selling factor in the US.

the pillows were loading their shit into their van and there's people walking on the side walk anyway and some guys pass by with a girl and we over heard her saying that they were going back to their hotel and that she was only $50 an hour.

I also like how the domestic MY FOOT has a sticker on the front that reads: Rockin' Music by [b]the pillows[/b], the band behind the TV smash hit FOOLY COOLY!"

I remembered to mention that Shin liked my Son of A Beach shirt. He started smiling after he saw it, and said "FLIP SIDE!", or whatever he says in Yaer.
