where the hell are the pics..
/r/ pix of Brian's girlfriend. Full body.
It's no secret that the amps are just rentals. Obviously there are weight restrictions between countries. And like Brian said, it's big. No way they can travel with that thing throughout Mexico and the USA. Besides, that shit might get stolen.
Also consider that Manabe runs his guitar through so much shit that it kinda doesn't matter what amp he uses. Remember that he did use Marshall JCM's before he got the Orange.
"]Well, to bad I missed it. My friend who went said that Sawao said it was being filmed by Pros, so maybe we'll get a DVD of the My Foot Tour US.
Ya. The videographer rode with me to dinner and the hotel, and said she was shooting for a DVD. She filmed some before the concert, and was at stage right for most of the concert. She also filmed a bit in the car and at dinner, but I don't think that'll make the DVD I don't know how good of an angle she had, so I don't know if they'll use any of the songs from this show for the DVD. She said she got some good crowd footage, but I'm not sure how useful that will be (I haven't seen any of their DVDs). Bojan also recorded some footage for them from the crowd and balcany during the show, but this was on a smaller camera, so it may just have been for their personal use.

So that's where all the flash photography was coming from.

Well, I just got home and am feeling pissed that I didn't stay around after the show to get autographs/show off my pillows knowledge to Sawao. Oh well, maybe it won't be my only chance...
Anyway, great show. Nothing major to complain about, so here comes a brief summary of my experience.
My friend, my dad, and I embarked on a 10 hour+ drive from my hometown to Chicago. We arrived at our hotel just before 7, hurrying to catch a free shuttel in to the airport. We navigated the airport, struggled to figure out the train tickets (thanks for the help, d-bags at the blue line station), and boarded our train in to Logan Square. It took a bit, so we got to the venue about 10-15 minutes before the first band took the stage.
During I Need Sleep's set, we tried to weasel our way to the front... but to no avail. By the end of the night, we were 3-5 people from the front, which was close enough for my to touch Sawao when he stage dived into the crowd the first time.
As Joyeuse said, some of the kids were getting way too rough for this kinda show. I think I saw you once, Plat, and you looked kinda pissed as you went by toward Jun's end (sorry I didn't say "Hi." I wasn't sure if it was you). I was surprised not to see Mellie, but now I see that she wasn't there. I think I might have seen catfish. There was some super-pale, skin and bones kids in a novelty t-shirt who made this weird little snickering sound after the show when a blue line employee told me she couldn't give me change for a drink (which I needed, it being so fucking hot in the show).
We took a couple pics, but they are way worse than the ones already pictured. I'll put them up when my friend sends them to me, though.
Oh. Was it me, or was Sawao's voice even stranger sounding in person?
Not bad, though; that man sure can move on stage.

While it annoyed me a bit because I had to practically defend my girlfriend for a few songs until I switched places with her (we were close up front by Manabe), I didn't mind the moshers too much. The people who got to me were those who were taking advantage of moshers to make their way up front. I know it's normal crowd movement, but I was getting practically elbowed in the face (like at ACen!) by people trying to get in front of me.
Other than that, the night was a blast (though I am afraid that footage of me looking like one shy bastard with the band before the show will surface someday ).
edit: hey, cool, I'm in this picture on the right.
On a more random note, it didn't occur to me that the Buster-with-pants shirt was a Mickey joke until I saw the swirly font that Busters was written in.

Oh, and I saw a couple passing gum through a kiss in front of me at one point. Guys. No. It was a bad kiss, anyway.

Whoooo good show. In picture #9, that would be my arm reaching to Manabe in my unworthiness, and also extreme exhaustion.
Brian, I saw you and your girlfriend up on the balcony and my friend and I tried to get up there but we didn't have the stealth
The show was good, the venue was mediocre but of course the Pillows could play in a Best Buy parking lot and it would still rock everything in a 10 mile radius. I was content with the setlist, wish there would've been some older stuff though.
The crowd was indeed a bit rough, there was a lot of smashing going on up front. Someone turned around and requested that the crushing stop, so I tried to keep a distance between him and the people behind me so I would stop crushing him but this caused me to start getting crushed by 2 big guys on my sides. However, the fact that there were either one or two people between me and Sir Manabe at all times made the entire night worth it.... all of the licks and solos I have come to live by right in my face for 18 songs...
Didn't say hi to any other IMers because I didn't know what any of you look like
I wish I could've stayed and tried to get autographs and stuff but we had to walk back to our lodging and couldn't go back too late...
Also, sorry to the guy with the spiky blonde hair whose back of head is in most of those pictures if you read this message board... totally did not mean to hit you in the face. I hope you're ok.
Thanks to the kid with the Konoha leaf headband who gave me that cup of ice, it was a lifesaver.
Didn't get that many pics since my camera died, but my friend got some good clips on his cell phone including a clear shot of the Last Dino solo... I'll have to find a way to get that stuff up here.
Oh and SonGojin.... I think I was behind your friend when she grabbed the setlist. When Manabe came back on stage he knelt down to her and made some gesture with his hand and said something to her but I didn't catch it, do you know what that was about?
Anyway, great show, and let's hope for more great US shows in the near future, and I bet all of us are really hoping for next year. I'm hoping there will be a show in Cleveland as that's where I'll be living/going to college next year.

Catfish was sadly unable to make it, as was Kyoko. Uh, I was wearing a black hoodie and had torn up jeans, and a light-colored satchel bag over my shoulder. I moved from about three or four people back dead center to about the same distance back over by Jun, where it was calmer. I looked pissed? Prooooooobably.
What's funny is you took almost the same route into town as my friend and I did, but a bit later than us. We decided to just use O'Hare as a parking ramp and take the el to the show. Didn't have any problems with the employees or nothin' - I quite enjoyed the ride. :S

Truth be told, I didn't think it was you because I expected Kyoko to be with you. But yeah, I think I must have seen you, because I was about dead center 3-5 people back, and when things were starting to get rough, a guy who looked a bit like you and who... I think... was trying to take pictures started to move out of the crowd a bit.
My only problem with the employees was that they were no help when we asked about what kind of tickets we needed. The ride was fun.

Mm, we just got the transit pass thing, even though two potential uses went to waste. It worked out okay.
Yeah, I was trying to take pictures. Sounds like you were right around where I was. What'd you look like, what were you wearing.

Pretty decent. I mean, I was preoccupied with not being crushed, but the song itself sounded pretty good.

Sounds pretty cool. Oh, and Jomei, I noticed Sawao's voice sounded odd last year when I saw em, too. I think it might be because there was a speaker blasting sound into my eardrums before hand, but who knows.
