Some news for you all.
At tonight's Osaka live, Sawao <3 announced that he will be doing a voice in an upcoming episode of the Beck anime. He will have 5 lines, although apparently a couple are like 'eh?' and 'sou ka'. His first line is talking to Taira, "Hey, Taira, Eddie's calling you in the back room", or something like that. Isn't that just the coolest thing ever? I think his band will be called the heros or something in the anime (which of course is very similar to the pillows in Japanese, only missing the half-voice on h/p). They recorded last week, and the episode will air on March 31. So anyone who isn't watching Beck (...though you should be, it is highly excellent), you may want to check out that episode! Yay!
I believe he said that this was the first time they've announced it publicly, so you heard it here first! :):)

Also, they played a new song called NonFiction tonight. They wrote it back in October or November, and this was the first performance. Wai! It was highly cool. It should be on a CD this year.

I think he should be spending less time on anime and movies and try writing better songs for the next album.

Better songs for the new album? You didn't like Good Dreams? Man, I think that album rocks! But it's all opinion... My only grief with it is its length...but hey, they come out with albums a lot more frequently than most, so of course the length is a bit shorter. But I love every song on there! Now, the album right before was only okay for them in my opinion, but Good Dreams was amazing!

But I don't think he spends a lot of time with anime and movies. They did FLCL a few years ago, but I haven't heard of anything else since then. And they had the 15th anniversary documentary, but surely that's cool. Personally, I think it's awesome! They do a great job with their songwriting and performing and recording and everything! And they can't spend 24 hours a day writing songs!

Cameras are unfortunately highly kinshi at most (all?) Japanese concerts, and I didn't try to sneak one in... Though I would have liked to!

Anyway, it was a great show. Perfect really: excellent lineup of songs, great storytelling by Sawao (he's so funny), exciting news, and 2 encores. Great fun.

Actually, if you think that's the coolest thing ever, you should see Colors of Life. Where would you get BECK in the US anyway? I assume it's on a torrent some place?

To me, Good Dreams = Okay. They can do much better, though. Sawao and the gang need to pull another Bivouac together and, subsequently, save the world.

i really like good dreams. It has alot of great songs on it. i don't know why people think it's bad.
