Today my friend told me that Shin was a composer as well.

I said "Dude, I think your wrong."

And he said "Dude, I think I'm right, just go check it out on IMDB"

And I don't know if he's right.

If I'm wrong, it truly shows my lack of knowledge towards "the pillows".

isn't IMDB one of those sites where people can easily edit the entries? like Wikipedia?

if you search "sato shinichiro" on yahoo, you get at least 3 different people (doctors, environmentalists..) could be just another Shinichiro Sato. you can really tell if you can find the composer's name in kanji so you can compare it to shin-chan's name.

That usually just means that a song that he was involved with (i.e. a pillows song) was used in the movie/tv show/etc.

Edit: It appears they are all video games where he is credited.

Edit: They're all Capcom as well

Sawao and Manabe aren't credited to those games, too, so I'm guessing there are no pillows songs on those games. Strange.

IMDB is not the most accurate website. Just sayin'.

Yeah, me to.

While IMDb is prone to some errors, that doesn't mean this is one of them. If true, it wouldn't be the first time that a video game score was composed by a member of a band (most notably, the music in the first two Sonic the Hedgehog games were composed by a guy from Dreams Come True.)

for some reason most music stores just don't list the composer with the game soundtrack cds, so this is all i've found so far...

it lists 佐藤真一郎 (kanji for the last name is the same, first name is different) as composer. now, shin's first name is typically written in katakana so we don't know what kanji is really used for his name (or whether he ever used kanji for his name to begin with). but i would bet it is just a different person. there is more than one jun suzuki, after all.

I've never heard of any other japanese person named Sawao.
