and there are a few hotels a block or two away from knitting factory...no rating on them though
The area around the knitting factory is nasty as fuck lol you dont want to stay there
And the shit's still expensive as hell. You seriously won't find a hotel in Manhattan under $130-150 a night. Just the way it is.

I got tickets for my friend and I to go both days, but I'm not sure what I'm doing about travel. We live in New Jersey and going into the city is annoying and more expensive than I'd like. Still, It's the fucking pillows, so I'll be there both days.

hostels are cheap ($30 or so). it's like living in a dorm, though- shared bathroom, shared rooms.

you can probably work it out so that you all can share a room if there's enough people going. they usually have different size rooms to fit 4, 6, or more people.

Hotels? Psh. Save yourself the cash, just stay awake for 48+ hours and wander the streets of the greatest city in the world (IMHO). I mean cmon, its for the pillows. You know they'd do the same for you.
On a slightly more serious note, you could attempt to sleep at either Penn Station or Grand Central Station. Homeless dudes do it all the time. But then again, homeless dudes also pee on themselves...

I'm liking terra's idea. It's $30 per person per night. At HI-NY, that means 2 nights with meals, PS2 and rec room, etc. It would be the cheapest route for everyone who doesn't have family/friends in NY.
For me, it would be:
Both nights
tickets: around $40 (just me)
hostel: around $120 (me + dad)
parking: ?
gas money: too much
pillows merch: lots
other bs spending: it's f-ing New York
yep, around $700.

argh, is this the only american dates they're doing this summer ? If so, what a HUGE waste, to come to a country and only do a few select shows.

I'm thinking about going to both NY shows. Just to meet up with all you crazy fuckers. Especially my main BIX NOODS, Kudos and Shurite. And the Indie Red Panda.
