Everyone I know who has read it has liked it. : | Maybe the people who thought it sucked were offended by the religious implications involved.

My parents happened to just buy that a couple days ago, so I'll probably read it at some point.

Presently, I'm reading The Once and Future King by T. H. White, which is quite good so far. It's about King Arthur growing up and Merlyn and such, and it's written quite well, with a lot of humor. Sadly, I'm doing a book report on it and it's due Monday, which sucks out some of the joy.

well the religious implications are pretty bogus and are blown out of proportion, in all honesty. i'm not really offended by them, but i'm aggirvated there are people that don't know enough about the real history of christianity to doubt their own beliefs. I hear that when you're reading it, it all makes sense, though. It just doesn't line up with what really happened.

But people are too lazy to go get a history book and find what really happened.

I disagree, but whatever. The book is pretty enjoyable regardless of whether or not you agree with this version of history.

I disliked it because it's so... well, every clue leads to another so simply and in a straight way, the characters are all like they just have all those highly unprobable attributs thrown at them, and there's cliche language. But all of these appear in almost all thrillers so...

And I'll start reading gargantua and pantagruel as soon as I stop being lazy and search for a original e-version, altough I don't speak french.

Reading Neuromancer for a class. Re-reading more like, good book. If you're at all a fan of sci-fi, you should read it. It pretty much birthed the cyberpunk genre.

Neal Stephenson, right? I tried to read Snow Crash, but then stopped. It was just too damn stupid and annoyingly written.

Yeah, because, as we know, history books all agree with each other and are 100% accurate. :eh:
