I am constantly amazed at Jimmy Page's ability to sling his guitar (a Les Paul, no less) so low while still being able to play at a relevant (although a bit sloppy) competency.
However, if Jimmy Page does it, it must be rock and roll. And thus everyone else should follow in his footsteps.

I have mine strapped so that the neck is even with my waist when the guitar's parallel to the ground. I play with incredibly bad form, my thumb always hooked over the neck unless I'm playing a barre chord, so I don't think there's a playing position that's going to be 100% comfortable for me.

You're only as cool as good as you can play. Wearing your strap all low and stupid doesn't make you any "cooler". It just restricts technique. Oh wait, playing shitty is cool, right?

Screw Jimmy Page. Herman Li, the lead guitarist from cheesy power metal band Dragonforce, plays with his guitar waist level, at best. And I can think of hardly anyone who can play faster than that guy. And to top it all off, he's a lefty playing right handed! (like me)
I'm so uncomfortable playing while sitting down, I almost always play standing up with the guitar at waist level. It feels much more natural to me with my arms relaxed. Having to raise my arms up to the guitar, sitting down or with the guitar up high, is very uncomfortable and slows my picking down. I'm surprised more people aren't like this.

I play with my guitar at stomach level and bass at waist level, maybe a few inches higher

I would love to see some Dragonforce live videos. Their drummer is also ridiculously fast. Not just some of that "Oh my god, that's insanely FAST!" More like: "That's probably not even real. Humans can't do that" type of fast.
As for playing angles...is that something that people actually consciously think about? Whenever I play, I just...play at where ever the guitar happens to be.
Though I think we should all play like Yoko, with the neck at a 35˚ angle...but that's probably because the Cyclone's body is supposedly super heavy.

They have a ton of live stuff on Youtube, try checking there.
A Cyclone shouldn't be too heavy, unless it's made out of some horribly low-grade alder. Which most shouldn't.

LP Special: Mahogany or Cherry, it's tough to tell the exact color.
Tiny Boat LP: Very dark red over quilted maple. NOT black.

Does Manabe play his Les Paul for Dead Stock Paradise as well?

Maybe, but chances are it's a Mustang. He makes both guitars sound exactly the same, so it doesn't really matter.
