The Pillows Wikipedia
...is updated I think. It's long and detailed focusing mainly on their past. Kudos to whoever edited it. It really describes Living Field and Please, Mr. Lostman well.
1995 was the year in which the pillows released the most widely ignored but easily the most imaginative album recorded at anytime during their career. Living Field was much like Kool Spice in that it's hard to pin a genre on the album.
The author comes off as a complete douche and is extremely biased toward the older albums. I have to admit it is very informative though.

That was my impression as well...
It was very informative about the early years, but it just breezed over everything from LB to now. Not everyone knows what the fans know. That's why it an encyclopedia, right?
Seems like the author's living in the past. "No one likes Living Field, WAH WAH WAH!" again...

it has Culen's "awesome" all over it. =]
but who keeps changing the intro about the name?. Culen makes a good point in that since they are a band, capitalizing the name is actually more correct than not capitalizing. and someone deleted the part about the delicious bump dvd. >=[

Wikipedia entrees are supposed to be informative, not someone's personal review. While the entire part on Living Field would look nice on someone's personal pillows fansite, it is unnecessary and out of place in a Wikipedia entry. And comments which refer to works of the pillows as "train wrecks" or "lackluster" (as seen in previous edits by the same IP) are individual and unnecessary as well.

Good point. Someone edit the thing.
I love how he calls PL a trainwreck. While this is an opinion shared by many hardcore fans, including me to an extent, it's not a fact. It has outsold many of their other albums, and broke a new barrier, being their 1st album to get a US release.

maybe PL should just be mentioned as little as possible in there. DX nothing good or bad.

If PML only reached no. 59 on the Japanese music charts, how exactly is that "amazing", as the wikipedia article says?

That's a weird way of wording the message, though. I don't think they meant "listen to stuff that's not in FLCL" so much as "try more of our music."

i wrote that part.
59th isn't amazing, but you could say that it charted at all was relatively great for them. to call that mainstream success? that's a stretch. when they make it to the top 100 for the whole year i'll call it mainstream success.
