I think that this album is a big step up from the previous two.
Excluding the singles, which I already knew were awesome before listening to the album, the most stand out song on the album is easily the title track; MY FOOT. Besides some catchy bass riffs and a great chorus, the duel solo really adds something new and spices things up. This is the type of new sound that I hope the pillows will use again in future songs.

Mighty lovers is a song that is still growing on me, mainly because I recently realized that the bass during the chorus is cool. I would say that the only bum track on the album is ROCK'N'ROLL SINNERS, and even that song isn't a complete disaster and sounds like it would be a good live song.

I am content with everything else.

Right on. This song really makes me feel good. I was impressed in the same way with Good Dreams (the song) too. Even more so, than with Good Dreams. My Foot is one of my top 10 favorites, period.

And I said this earlier, not a bandwagon response!
I still love this album, no opinion shift coming from me.

if anything, after having this album for a few weeks, i think i like it better than when i initally listened to it. might lovers has defintiely grown on me a lot. i just love the overall quirkiness of the song. march of the god and gazelle city seem to get better every time i listen to them too. the only song that i probably don't like as much any more is degeneration. if any song was a filler, it was that

Semi-agreed. But if you listen to it with an open, unharshly critiquing mind...it can be pretty fun. Kind of mindless when comepared with everything else, but still..."rocking" and more grungy.

the pre-chorus is really good, probably the most outstanding part of the song. it's grown on me a bit, but not my favorite on the album.

my foot was an instant win with me. catchy intro and good chorus. 4.0

rock'n'roll sinners was pretty good. a fun song. 2.5

the air resister is sweet. as i said, who can't love a song that says "god has fled from the face of this imperfect world"? 3.5

the third eye is a great song with very good intro, solo, and outro. 4.0

mighty lovers grew on me the most over time. it's funky and cool and has awesomely ecchi meanings in it (lol). it started at like 2.0, but is now a 3.5

nonfiction has a great feel to it, lots of fun to listen to. 3.5

degeneration is good, not outstanding, but still fun. 2.5

march of the god was insta-win. it's my favorite instrumental since paper triangle. 4.5

my girl (document version) blew me. it exceeded what i had been expecting. 4.5

sayonara universe is slow, sad and has really great disharmonic parts. manabe's guitar is fun to listen to and play. the lyrics are sad, serious, and beautiful. 5.0

gazelle city...at first i hardly liked this more than degeneration or rock'n'roll sinners, but it's catchy and a hell of a lot of fun to play. it's a song of parting that's not all mopey. 4.5

overall, i'd give my foot a 3.75-4.0 much better than penalty life and good dreams. not quite up to par with PML and far below Kool Spice and Living Field, but a very solid album. I hope to see more work like this in the future.

does anyone else think sayonara universe could be alot better if sawao put some more feeling into the chorus?

Also, i think Mighty Lovers has one of the best intros and solos on this album, i wish the chorus was a little better though

I hate the Might Lovers solo. Yes to your Sayonara Universe question, though.
