It's just the Pillows with a new sound everyone is excited for. I like it, myself, but I'll agree it's nowhere near the goodness that was Happy Bivouac like kudos said.

Ureshii and I have come to the conclusion that this album is still pretty mediocre. In my opinion the only reason it beats Good Dreams is because Good Dreams had Lo-Fi Boy, Fighter Girl and Bad Dreams. But the good songs on Good Dreams still win.

Lo Fi Girl Fighter Boy is a good song.
In fact Good Dreams is not that bad, Penalty Life is way worse.

I think it's prety good. It kicks Good Dreams in the pants when speakign about emotion and singing. Good Dreams had its moments, but My Foot seems to be more of a consistant feel to it.

I need to change my response for "Degeneration". Still a great song; but not like Nirvana. It actually reminds me of "Quick and to the Pointless" by Queens of the Stone Age & a bit of Ramones.

I listened to the album a few times through and definitely thought it that it maintained a general theme throughout the whole CD much better than the rest of the Pillows' recent work. Considering the posts in this thread hoever, I think a lot of people simply wanted to like the new CD so much that their reviews of the songs weren't truly indicative of what they really thought about them. I’ve done the same thing myself, where I’ve looked forward to a video game/movie/CD so much that I loved it at first no matter what it was actually like. While I generally like the CD, nothing on it really makes it or "breaks" it for me; essentially it is unremarkable. Of course I understand that my musical tastes and opinions are not self-evident truths that everyone shares, but taking into account the general criticisms I've heard in this forum about Good Dreams, Penalty Life, etc., I don't think people will necessarily be as enthusiastic about My Foot in a few more months.

I completely change my opinion about this album now. It's pure mediocrity except for THE THIRD EYE and Gazelle City. I can't stand listening to all of it when I reach the half of Degeneration. However, it is better than GOOD DREAMS and Penalty Life significantly.
Hang in there Shin-chan...

aw whatever, your all just saying that because everyone else is. MY FOOT, although its new like PENALTY LIFE and GOOD DREAMS does not fail and fall into the conformity of mediocracy. No, its new, and it sounds good. Sure its no LF or PML but it has its own style. It expresses a new form of creativity that is appealing to the ear and unique. Even after all this time I still love this album.
But I have to agree with one thing, freakn shin-chan's getting left out.

I have listened to this album at least once a day since it came out and it still kicks the shit out of everything but LF, PML, LB, RH, TYMT, and HB...I guess I just like the style...and they definately got their energy back...
and how could you not like these 3 back to back
March of the God
My Girl
Sayonara Universe
(this is an opinion obviously so you can comment on it, but dont argue it)
Just curious...I have always found The Third Eye very dull and boring...I was wondering why everyone liked it so much...Sorta hoping I can take a new perspective on this song and hate it less...

from march of the god on, it's amazing. the only song i don't love yet is degeneration, but i do like it. overall, i'd say an A-/B+ for the album. the two english songs are a hell of a lot better than those off of previous albums, and as i said, the last four songs are pure goodness.
