How come everyone is waiting for price drops? None are planned right now. Even the original XBOX is staying at the same price and MS is planning to have the shipments get lower and lower until everyone just has to buy a 360.
ps3 and the revolution are bound to launch at less than $600 (xbox 360's core bundle price), and microsoft will no doubt drop their prices in response.
I meant the original XBOX will not drop. I think they are gonna keep 360's price the same for the launches because they are saving their secret weapon for the launch. HALO 3. MS is saying that they aren't going to make one, but why was it already in progress? They expect it to come out in time for PS3 which will be winter 06.

Sony said that depending on the success of the Xbox 360 launch, they would release the PS3 as early as Spring 2006.

I really doubt this. Initial release dates for new consoles are almost never met. Besides Spring isn't really the best time of the year for a console release.

Well they said they would only do this depending if the 360 had a successful launch. I can't remember word for word or where I read it (most likely IGN). True that Spring is not the best time, but look at the PSP. Besides, if not Spring, then in May. Just in time for E3.

I'm a PSM subscriber, and I was reading some things about that very subject. So far, Sony's projection is to have the PS3 with a limited playable presence at the Las Vegas show just like they did with the PSP in its release period, and to have it out anywhere between a few months before E3 and immediately after. Their goal time is apparently pretty close to E3 though, as it's expected to have a playable presence at the Tokyo game show as well. This is also made suspicious by how much time Konami and Kojima-san have spent working on Metal Gear Solid 4 in recent months, and how much time Polyphony has spent on Gran Turismo 5, which, GT games have been launch titles for every Sony console so far. I'm guessing, as a long time PS fan, that with the wildly positive reviews across the board for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, that the release of the XBox 360's success will end up pushing the release date earlier slightly if the release lineup is something special, which so far it's only sports games...
Microsoft, however, is working with Bungie to have Halo 3 done by the time the PS3 is expected to launch, which I'm fully expecting Konami and Sony to combat with things like MGS 4 (Which may explain the lack of comments and surplus of business on it, as I said. A lot of the programmers and the like were in an awful fuss over what they'd gotten to see of it from others in the community, and it's apparently coming on at an astounding pace, even with the release of Metal Gear Acid 2 on the PSP...Perhaps as a distraction in the manner of Sammy putting out a Guilty Gear X 1.5 or XX #Reload before the next title?), GT 5 (Which, the series is of course very enthusiastically followed by fans.), and Namco's monster of an RPG series', Xenosaga's next episode (Which are marvelous games if you can get into the subject matter.). They have a lot of powerhouse companies with loyalties to them...The ever-popular RPG field shows powerful presences from Atlus (Disgaea, Phantom Brave, Makai Kingdom, Shin Megami Tensei, etc.), Square-Enix (Not fond of them lately, but they sell like hotcakes and are still a huge name even in Japan with Enix's continuing work on the Dragon Warrior titles.) and Namco...And Resident Evil 5 is in the works with graphics design already in progress with screens already taken by Capcom, whose recent Resident Evil 4 for the GC and more closely the PS2 have also become quite hot items. The extras added in the PS2 version (Ada missions, new outfits, etc.) also suggest that Capcom's been spending a little more time in their studios, as well as "the return of a beloved fighting franchise" promised. Although the launch is far away, it's also tilting into the big, flashy, important E3 season and even more importantly, right before the summer season, an important one for game companies. Microsoft may have the jump in time, but it may be premature. It might lose all its sizzle by the time Ps3 hits...It doesn't have a lot of excitement right now due to the high-as-hell price. Also, the Ps3 is projected for a price of $380-$450, a move that's going to cost Sony in profit for at least the next year. The feedback from programmers has been good enough to get them to knock their pricing down that far, as well as stripping away some extras...Confidence, anyone? It's -got- to be incredible. Plus, the fact that it's apparently going to offer internet support, as well as having an online community, Microsoft Ion style, from day one? One person in PSM said "What if Sony doesn't charge a subscription fee though? That'd be a fight worth watching!" And indeed it would be.
The Revolution didn't look very interesting to me, but there's never any counting out the third player, even if they have been failing lately by Sony's and Microsoft's massive muscle power. Since the old 'PS pwns SNES and N64' disgrace in the mid to late 90's, Nintendo's saving grace has been it's wonderful work with handhelds like the stellar Advance and Advance SP. The PSP, by the way, should follow Nintendo's lead and port their more famous PS games to handheld and make big sexy loads of the great green awesome. However...
With competitors such as these two powerful machines, despite the X360 having "a lot of stupid bottlenecks", in the words of a game maker, Mr. Gates has deep enough pockets and enough media coverage to make it work even if it is an inferior machine, so Sony will have to have some powerful cards up its sleeve; Which, as we've come to know from them over time, they usually do.
Either way, all three systems are good news for geeks like us, since they'll be competing to make us better games on better systems -forever-. Dance, puppets, dance! >=D!
(...Yes. I bleed blue, and my blood cells look like X's, O's, triangles and squares. So what?)

I never understood why people make it seem like a competition. How there are people on each side of Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. The companies may have a competition, but people just go on how their favorit system is way more better and exciting than yours. Why not buy all of them?

Or have no real means of income.
On that note, I ordered the second Fire Emblem GBA game, and it should be arriving any day to pwn the piss out of XBOX360.

Nintendo says they are not apart in the console wars. They just like making fun games and that's it. But honestly, XBOX sucks.

I tried out the XBOX 360 the other day at Target. The graphics were good; but not what Microsoft was saying they were going to be. Also, I tired Kameo and found it very frustrating to play. I wasn't that impressed. Also, the XBOX 360 runs on the blood of Vietnamese orphans.
