 Pillows awards I just realized that there isn't anything on this site regarding awards that the pillows have won. Have the pillows ever won any for their music (like the Japanese equivalent of a Grammy)?

That's a good question. I honestly don't know if there is such a thing but I know there is a Japanese version of MTV.

good question...
after a bit of research:

they seem to have two major awards: the japan record award (winners include the likes of glay, mr. children, and ayumi hamasaki, three times in a row no less...), and the gold disc award, which is based entirely on sales. not looking too hot for the pillows on either account.
then there's the mtv music awards japan... of which a disproportionate number of nominees are western artists. >__>

Im not suprisied, most of the crap that is popular music dominates all over the world. Im mean A lot of good bands are forgotten or are not recognize because of the shit pumping out into the mainstream, clogging up peoples views.

With a few exceptions most artists that win major music awards are far from the best. Most great musicians aren't even recognized with awards. The Pillows deserve several but the fact that they haven't won any doesn't mean anything. We (the fans) know they should have them and I think that says more than enough for the group.

well, i asked on the japanese bbs, and the answer was about the same- not likely. but one person said they vaguely remembered swanky street might have won an award for its cover art.
