 TEH RING TWO
I finally got around to renting this movie, and man, it wasn't that great. If you've ever seen the Omen, you know that the Ring Two is extremely derivative of this satanic classic. The film strays from its originally interesting plot involving a killer videotape to basically a possession story that bends the rules set by the first film.
It borrows two themes from other films.
Plot details ahead, if you're like me and didn't see it.
1. The theme of an evil child being born mysteriously, and the current parent tracking down his/her origins. Damien's father in the Omen makes a similar journey to learn about Damien's origins. Much like in The Ring Two, the parent visits the hospital in which the child had been born to learn about its birth.
2. The second borrowed theme is the ghost-child-in-need-of-a-parent-and-willing-to-destroy-families-to-get-one. Dark Water features a similar motif.
I will say that the short feature Rings on the DVD was a bit more interesting. Ok, that's all. I just had to let out my frustration.

...and the fact that the total plot is stolen from the Japanese trilogy. Plus those deer were the worst CGI I've ever seen.

Yeah, that was pretty lame. It pissed me off how all of a sudden the stupid girl can do all this crazy shit with animals and people and lights and whatnot that she couldn't do in the first movie. That would be like having Freddy Krueger stop killing people in their dreams and suddenly start killing people in the traditional fashion.

I didn't like the first one at all, and I have no interest in seeing this one. Sounds like I made a good choice.

If you didn't like the first one, this one has nothing to offer you.
