ANN: Sound Decision

I wouldn't think of Sawao as a Beach Boy imitator, though (except for Dead Stock Paradise).

Wow. What a douche. For someone writing a music column he doesn't seem to have any clue what he's talking about.

Who's with me in the petition to tell Mays that he's a douchebaag?
As for the actual music, a single chord progression is the usual formula for Sawao and company. If you play guitar, you've probably played the same chords, and you've definitely played some of the same notes.
Shut up. Shut up. Learn to know what you are talking about before you talk about it.
God, professional critics are the absolute pits.

AYE! He knows nothing about the Pillows. Terra should've written an article and sent it in to them.

Here is my hate mail. It's over the top, and an ameteurish attempt not to sound like a snooty kid, but as previously stated: this guy's a douchebag
"The following article you authored is both an erroneous insult to the subject, and a journalistic abortion.

It’s seems painfully apparent that you conducted minimal research into the very subject of your article. To claim that the pillows are in anyway analogous to puffy ami yumi is so hilariously ignorant that anyone with even a casual interest in Japanese music will find themselves laughing at your forced analogy. The pillows began as a indie band who crafted uniquely creative music in every way dissimilar to the manufactured garbage that passes as japanse music amongst anime fans. Their earlier records are curious works of pop composition; blending reggae, jazz, and traditional rock to create a unique sound that is in no way similar to the generic top 40 crap that puffy ami yumi makes. Sawao's voice has changed so much in fifteen years. To say he is a "beach boys imitator" is a trite and inaccurate claim.
-Maybe if you are going to make sweeping generalization about a musical artist you should listen to more than one of their albums.
-Maybe if you listened to something other than ridiculous VK and "KAWAIA P0P" your reviews wouldn't make the entire Japanese music scene seem so trivial and retarded.
-Maybe if you explored music from somewhere other than an anime soundtracks you would not be so prone to such lame analogies.
FLCL has had the unfortunate effect of allowing people like you access to great music like the pillows.
Please suck less in the future."
