They're both pretty fucking awesome in my opinion... but Nine Miles does have a bit more variety, which is kind of incredible considering Manabe's only put out two albums as 9M.
Though you have to admit, a triple bill of Nine Miles/noodles/the pillows would be great. Especially if Manabe played ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS LIVE. He's magical enough to pull it off.

Manabe played all of the instruments on the Solomonic Polarbear albums. At least, that was what I was told and if that was wrong, someone please correct me.

At first i thought nine miles sucked. But dude. It's so good. Fucking freeze contact. There's like james bond spy themes in the background, then there's like a fucking orchestral part in the middle where everything is harmonizing. i love it.
