If a game has more words than explosions it doesn't do much for me.
A good word to explosion ratio is very important to a game's sucess.

YES.
I think FFIX is probably the most under-rated game in the series.

ffx = decent, ffx-2 = crap.
cloud did start a rather awful trend, but he was the most badass of all the final fantasy protagonists..

back to the music. 
favorite piano tracks? silence and motion, tina's theme (duh), spinach rag... silence and motion because i was pleasantly surprised at the arrangement. before hearing it, i'd wondered why on earth they chose to make it into a piano song, but they did it beautifully. and spinach rag is fun to play.
ahh, memories. 
or how about favorite tracks, in general?

I really like the Zanarkand theme from FFX. Whenever I get a practice room at school, there's always someone playing it.
I'd really like to check out the FFVIII piano collections. The orchestra version of the OST is my favorite FF music.

Anytime man.
I acutally just got FF8 back in a trade. 60 bucks and ff8 for my tube screamer. the dod kills. i have to mix it with my blues driver though. the bd works as the amp's overdrive. anyway, my metal zone is now useless.
