I was shocked at how good Tom Cruise was in this film. I thought he would be doing at most a half-assed job considering all the press and commotion he's making; but he did extremely well in this flick. Dakota, too, is starting to be considered a serious actress. She's sure doing more than what Drew did at her age.
yeah. The plot for the book is about the same. He modernized all the characters, of course. But the son returning was forcing a really happy ending.
i agree, i think they shouldnt of had the osn live. And possibly not even have the mother and her (husband?) live. But i really liked the movie.

spolier highlight

the bacteria in the water is what killed them? or the water in general? what was that all about?

but yeah I agree it was a great movie. I've always loved Dakotas acting. Almost every movie shes been in shes done a good job in... the movie it self may not have been amazing but she still acted great.

It was a fun movie but the end wasn't as exciting. I was expecting a modernized version of the 1940's version, but I really shouldn't talk cuz I haven't read the book.

It was bacteria and germs and all that in general. It's the same thing that happened in the original.
