Unless they've radically changed the MacOS while I've been gone, all releases of OSX I'm aware of are built on Darwin, a flavor of BSD Unix. And it's a damn fine operating system, from what I remember.

I dunno... it dosen't seem like Tiger has as many new features as Panther did.

I'll definitely buy it though. Hopefully it will squeeze some more performance out of my aging PowerBook.

get a new computer!!! hahaha!!! just kidding!!!

well i don't know exactly how many features panther came out with. simply because back then, i wasn't into macs. i know for sure the best thing about tiger is that dashboard thing. i am already loving the dictionary thing because it will save me time from going onto dictionary.com. but i think the main selling point, for apple at least, is Spotlight. thats pretty cool how it will search the documents themselves to match the inquery.

and you are right Joyeuse. it is a damn fine OS.

Buy? Oh, right. That thing where you exchange money for the software your computer needs to run.

Never let myself fall into that scam.

Macs are actually much cooler to use in my opinion. My only problem is they are not as compatible with as many programs in my situation.
