Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Wait, they treated fans "poorly"? By playing their album tour setlist and getting annoyed when people heckled them? Are you kidding??? I go to tons of shows and almost nobody calls out songs they wanna hear except when the band asks "okay, what songs do y'all wanna hear?". I mean, one or two people calling out the name of a song is fairly innocuous, but to the point where it becomes heckling? Fuck that. Entitlement, straight up.

Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Wow, it looks like even the new LA venue (The Mayan) was sold out very fast. Is there any hope of them opening more seats? Or getting tickets on a secondary market (if anyone has 2 tickets, I'm willing to buy)? I was planning on flying up to the Seattle show as well, now I'd just settle for seeing them once this tour!

Anyway, about secondhand tickets, there's been a bunch of them going for really really really high prices online. Some of them have been on sale for literally 10x the original price ($200+). Therefore, I'd strongly advise lurking on user community sites like Twitter, Reddit and Facebook to see if anyone's offering their tickets, because these real, non-scalper people are more likely to charge a reasonable price.

This time it's within walking distance of Pike Place, Space Needle, etc. (also the Moore Theatre) Hope there's no issue with my tickets. They say they honor Neptune tickets so I assume they just sold the difference in capacity of each place otherwise there might be some issues.

Oh well, my wife and I got tickets for Seattle, so we'll see them then at least.

Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Looks like Portland is now finally completely sold out. Just the upgraded Seattle venue left, although it looks like there's only 2nd balcony tix left. They're really doing a seated venue for Seattle?

Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Looks like the whole tour is now completely sold out. So awesome to see Pillows playing pretty big venues in the West; most if not all are thousand seaters? Hell, The Mayan is 1,700, which is significantly more than, say, O-East (1,300).

Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
I had some questions for anyone from or familiar with NYC/Irving Plaza. I'm going to the 7/13 Irving Plaza show, but have never been to New York. I just have regular (not VIP) tickets and was planning on getting in line at least a couple hours before the show to be somewhat close to the front. Are there any concerns compared to other venues regarding this? Can I expect to be able to get back in line if I run to a restaurant to use the bathroom 30 minutes before the doors open (usually just dependent on the people immediately behind you at most places)? Are there so many VIP tickets sold & allowed in first that it won't be worth the wait because I'll be 1/3 the way back no matter how soon I get there? Any other tips regarding my first NYC trip would be appreciated as I don't really travel. Also, if anyone has an extra VIP ticket for sale or sees one online, let me know.

I think the balcony might be VIP only, but don't know if VIPs have the option to come down to the standing room. If they are, wouldn't that cause a capacity issue? I guess just make sure you pee before you get in line and let loose once you're inside.

Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Been to Irving before but not 100% sure of the way it works, but those are pretty general venue questions...the GA line gets pretty long, if you're trying to get very close, I'd say 2 hours before door is what I'd do, but I'm also overzealous with that type of stuff. The line is usually tied off so it doesn't take up the whole sidewalk, but you can duck under the rope and leave at any point, as long as the people in front/behind you are cool and save your spot.
Not sure how many VIP tix they sell per show, but those allow access to the balcony, which has it's own bar and couches/seating. It doesn't require VIP holders to stay there though, it just gives you a wristband so you can get in there. More than likely those who bought VIP tix did so to get in early and get merch or get right up front. Even so, I've been 10-20 people back in the GA line and still got maybe third row last time they were in town. You really can't predict what people will do...some go right to the bar, some go right to merch, others go right to the stage. So the only thing you can do is get there as early as you deem sufficient and hope for the best.
Any other NYC specific questions feel free to pm me pr0n!

I wasn't sure if there might be a rope and strict security that wouldn't let you back in line or anything like that. Since I can't pee once I get in without losing my spot, I try to do it within an hour of the doors opening assuming others allow. Anyone have an idea as to what songs they'll be playing in their setlist? I haven't seen a new FLCL album to know what's in the new shows, which is what I would assume they'd play were there an album. On the other hand, they never had a Nook in the Brain US tour, but they also just got off off their Return to Third Movement tour in Japan...and will have their Rebroadcast tour when they return (What is Rebroadcast anyway??). So really do we have any idea?
It doesn't require VIP holders to stay there though, it just gives you a wristband so you can get in there.
ahhhh so it'll probably be VIPs in the front row, then. Should be able to get a decent spot if you come in pretty early, though.
Anyone have an idea as to what songs they'll be playing in their setlist? Their past US tour sets have been pretty heavy on FLCL songs; there could be even more songs from the show this time, since this is an AS sponsored tour and the series is in the middle of airing. Probably some non-FLCL songs here and there? (possibly a song or two from Nook, some general favourites, or even a new song??) Crescent posted a list of all the songs that have appeared in the new FLCL episodes so far in the FLCL music thread. Rebroadcast is the title of the new album, which Sawao said will be released in September (see Mafu's report in the Return to Third Movement Vol. 2 thread).
