Post Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
So, I couldn't help myself when I realized the really quite close proximity between Seattle and Portland so I decided to road trip and do both. :shred:

I don't know if this is the place, but I can see from the google doc that there are others of you who must have had the same idea -- I wonder if there would be some way then we could go halvsies/thirdsies/or whatever fractionsies on costs of something? I was figuring I'd have to rent a car, for example--if there were others doing the same thing it might be prudent to go together, etc. Let me know~

Certainly glad to see this action going on stateside. They'll be ready for some FLCL-era rocking for sure after the current tour in Japan wraps up.

Post Re: Adult Swim Sponsored US Tour in July
Ooooooooook, new revelations about SF gig. That @FLCL_USA tweet that says "initial SF venue SOLD OUT but we are upscaling to 1000" was unclear, but somebody on Reddit said that August Hall has a capacity of 1,000. I then did a quick search and found that August Hall generally has a 750 capacity for concerts, and 1,000 capacity for dance shows. So it looks like what happened was August Hall was booked for 750 (standard concert capacity), and the venue agreed to raise capacity to 1,000 when that initial 750 sold out.

It was also reported on Reddit that yesterday, after SF had already been labelled as "sold out" (presumably meaning "sold out" of the initial 750 ticket allocation), tickets were available once again. Then, they sold out again. Then, they came back up again. And now, they're sold out (for the third time). I don't know for sure, but it looks like that first restarting of ticket sales was probably the result of capacity being raised from 750 to 1,000. No idea what that second restart was about; could have just been the result of a mistake.

WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY POINT (attention taichikun14!!!): it's possible that there won't be any more SF tickets. If SF is really sold out of those 1,000 tickets, then I wouldn't hold my breath for a venue change. If I'm right, best chance would be to go after tickets for LA once more tickets for that show have been released, and make the long-ass road trip there for the show (or flights; I dunno which is cheaper).

EDIT: August Hall tweeted that they did in fact release more tickets for the SF show (that's probably what the whole stop-start situation was about). Now that they're sold out again, it looks like SF is completely done.

Oh my God, the New York venue wasn't upgraded...IT'S AN EXTRA SHOW!!! Yes, Maki (Production I.G. president) confirmed that THERE WILL BE TWO NYC SHOWS!!! Second show is at Irving Plaza, Friday 13 July at 7pm. Here's the link for tickets. Get 'em while you can!!!

haha thanks yo. This is kinda my way of compensating for the fact that I can't make any of the gigs (since I'm on another continent with no money). :D

Also caught this little tweet from Maki; apparently they did "try" to get some more cities on the tour. Don't know what stood in their way, but with how these ticket sales have been going, I hope the band feels encouraged to come back again for an expanded US tour.

I just want to point out that the Irving Plaza July 13th show is a SECOND nyc concert! They will be playing back to back the 12th and 13th. Maki the President of I.G. USA told us this in the Twitter comments. I already bought my tickets for both! ^^

I guess I'll find out if I jumped the gun if they end up expanding shows to other states (Texas in my case)

I booked a hotel pretty much within walking distance of Neptune Theatre. 7 minutes according to google. Looks like there's alot of good food in the area too.

OK, this is crazy but...the second NY show was announced 12 hours ago with 1,025 brand new, fresh, vacant seats ready for sale. Now, 12 hours later, all 1,025 are GONE! NY IS NOW COMPLETELY SOLD OUT! Sorry to anyone who missed out on both NY shows, but thanks so much to all the crazy NY fans who've just eradicated ticket sales.

If somone missed out on the July 13th nyc tickets I have 2 extra. I had to go back and buy vip tickets. I’d rather them go to someone who really wants to see the pillows instead of someone who just thinks flcl is a cool anime. Let me know <3

Omg thank you for the info dimsum!! At least there's hope! Gonna hop on that twitter offer now since it might be my last shot. I'll definitely consider taking the trip down to LA if they get an upgrade, but still crossing my fingers for the SF thing to work out somehow.

Anyone have a lead on any extra NYC tickets, preferably the Friday show? I didn't find out until after they sold out and haven't been able to see my favorite band in 8 years! I should have been watching for tours more closely with FLCL coming back :(

If not, what should expectations be for ebay/etc ticket pricing/availability? I don't really want to pay $200 a seat the second I see some, but on the other hand REALLY don't want to plan an $800 trip and not end up finding tickets by the time I go. Thanks!

Was planning on going with my wife and a friend; went to buy tickets this morning and the entire tour is sold out? I'm bummed that I missed out. If anyone ends up with a few extra tickets to Seattle or Portland, please let me know.
