Re: the pillows general thread
Oh yeah, though, Mafu - out of curiosity, since they went all-in on Black Sheep, did they play Ice Pick uptempo or did they slow it back down some more?

Re: the pillows general thread
Hey, follows. If you want to continue this discussion, would you mind taking it to Killing Field or elsewhere? I'd like to keep this thread pillows related. Anyway, I hope that everyone had a merry Christmas and Arietty day (he turned 48 yesterday).

Re: the pillows general thread
When they played Ice Pick several years back while I was in Japan, it seemed like the classic arrangement, albeit maybe just a tick faster. I think that oftentimes a song like that gets played pretty quickly live, and probably would have been done uptempo for the 3rd Movement tour as well...Mafu?

Re: the pillows general thread
Ice Pick didn't stand out to me as being too slow, too fast, etc. It sounded like the album arrangement to me.
By the way, I have been recording and collecting the live tracks that they have been broadcasting on the radio from the RETURN TO THIRD MOVEMENT TOUR. So far, I have collected 6 unique performances (I missed one radio show). I'll probably just share them here rather than the Facebook page. Besides the Swanky Street and Please Mr. Lostman performances that I have already posted, I have Another Morning, One Life, Blues Drive Monster, and Strange Chameleon. There are gonna be some more as well. (See the radio thread. Mafu need help.)

Re: the pillows general thread
Hm, yeah, checking the recorded lives real quickly, think during the Pied Piper tour they were playing it a bit faster but during the Trial tour it was closer to the album arrangement.

I have always wanted to do this. Even when I first became a fan, it was a dream to join this. Finally... I have ascended. I am now a member of the official fanclub, "What's pillows".
woah is it super exclusive? also what are the perks? really, i got no idea about the fanclub so please dish on the details. also congrats!
It's not really too exclusive. You just have to pay 3,500 yen for an annual membership. The biggest perk is for getting tickets. Members have access to the fanclub ticket lottery, so it's much easier to get live tickets. Also, since the fanclub tickets are priority, the numbers on the tickets are lower and allow you to enter the venues earlier, enabling you to get closer to the front. I've already secured tickets for myself and a few friends for the upcoming Return to Third Movement Vol.2, so I'm really happy that I don't have to repeat the Vol.1 ticket-getting-nightmare again. They also send a physical news letter via mail occasionally. I used to think that it was monthly, but I didn't receive anything for February. Maybe it's bi-monthly? Every now and then? Not really sure. Sawao also has a blog that is only accessible to fanclub members. He occasionally sends a message to everyone and uploads some pictures on there. (That's where I saw him posting that garbage ION turntable.) Speaking of the Sawao mail-magazine... In the latest one he said that the pillows have been recording the new album, as well as a "single demo recording". He said (and I'm just paraphrasing/roughly translating) "I have strong feelings that the next album may become the last album. That probably isn't so, but I am recording with those feelings so that I can make an album without having any regrets. Until the 30th anniversary in September next year, I will give it my all and burn myself out!". Looks like Sawao wants to go down in a final blaze of glory. I can't wait to hear this new album (which seems to be a separate work from the Looney Tunes soundtrack, by the way).

That’s a nice haul right there. I still need to pick up a copy of Future, myself. I’m pretty sure that Goshin doesn’t need many rips.

Heh, well Mafu, if we're at that point now I would love to discuss the music on these bad boys! I appreciate the kindness of my fellow Busters! But that is a very nice haul. Your picture also reminded me about The Predators EP. Just looked online, and for whatever reason that release is on US iTunes... so I just bought it for about $5! If only it were that easy for the rest. I'd love to have a physical copy of the Bootleg album, for one thing. Now I know it's been explained on one of these threads before, but how'd you go about getting all these releases at the same time, Dimsim? Was it an easy process to get them shipped to the US for you?
