Either way, most 00's music isn't as good as other decades.
The 00's have (to me at least) been witness to the spread of indie music, some of which is pretty damn awesome.
I haven't even paid attention to any mainstream music to speak of this decade.

that indie music you're talking about...it is mainstream...
give it to the sixties.

The 80's, for David Byrne, all the pre-nirvana alt-rock pioneers (Husker Du, R.E.M, Pretenders, The Replacements, and of course, Pixies) and Elvis Costello. Either that or the late 70's. It's tough because so much good stuff came out of the late 70's. Talking Heads 77, This Year's Model, London Calling, etc.

00's music is not worse than the music of any other decade. There was plenty of shitty music in the 60's and 70's, but by now we've forgotten about most of it. In 30 years no one will remember the Korns and Jets and Stainds. They will, however, remember the good stuff, and people who weren't alive in the 00's will be complaining about the shititude of 2030's music.

I voted 50s and earlier, because the 1630s was a pretty bangin' decade.
The 50s was good, too.

word. i hope you're talking about j.s. bach, not c.p.e. bach, even though he had some great compositions, such as solfeggio.
bach's compositions are amazing. the lute suites are awesome, as are the cello suites. and every other one ever. my favorite has been BWV 1016 - air on the G string for a long time.
