I strongly suggest you purchase the album In fact I actually ended up purchasing 4 copies (2 standard, 2 limited w/ DVD) so I'm probably going to be selling at least 1 of them shortly on eBay
I'm not interested in purchasing it, especially at typical 3k JPY standard prices, because I don't feel like the last six (perhaps 7) pillows albums were worth owning/paying money for.
Yet you still frequent the forum despite not enjoying an album for the past almost 10 years. That's one dedicated troll.

As far as I can tell, there are only a small handful of active members on this forum that still "actively" follow the band. If you lurk the forum during the "lulls" between albums, you'll notice that most activity here is on topics that have nothing to do with the pillows. To avoid further indulging the derail, I'll continue this post in my KF thread (damn, that comes in handy).

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
Coooming Sooon
In a recent interview Sawao mentioned that instead of following standard procedure and going to a specialty mastering studio as per Stroll and Roll, he did the mastering on his own, extensively.
When I looked in the credits and saw "AAD Studios", I googled it, found nothing, and joked that it might be a code name for Sawao's bedroom. I guess I could be right, because I looked at that interview that you mentioned, and yes... Sawao himself did have a part in the mastering on this album. Not surprising, as a lot of it does sound quite amateurish. The little drum solo in Coooming Sooon, for example, sounds very compressed. In the interview, he also said that he would like to have multiple studios master the albums and listen to hear how different they turn out, "but it costs a lot of money so it probably won't happen".
I'm not interested in purchasing it, especially at typical 3k JPY standard prices, because I don't feel like the last six (perhaps 7) pillows albums were worth owning/paying money for.
I think if someone is as firm about not buying an album as GR is, withholding rips isn't gonna force them to (but obviously, the obligation to share rips isn't then created as a consequence, not that GR is asking for rips at all). I've got my own long-pondered opinions about music being free and accessible, the gist of which is that I support it to an extent, and I say that as a person who buys a potentially irresponsibly large amount of music and music merchandise. But this ain't the place for that discussion. Still, I felt like dropping my own two cents into the well. Hope that isn't advancing this thread towards derailment.
Unrelated, still waiting for my copy of Nook and other Pillows stuff in the mail. Psyched to watch the Nook DVD considering that it's got 3 all-new PVs, unlike the past few DVDs which had at least one PV on them that the band had already uploaded to YouTube in full.

I say I'm eager to give it a shot because there's a small, sickled part of me that retains hope, like any Sonic fan who hears "Sonic is back!! Really, this time!" I slowly learning my lesson, but there you go. Ousama and the Envy preview have been utterly disappointing as well, so I'm quite far away from pulling the trigger on this one. And just to head it off before anyone else gets there: I don't want to hear anyone on this forum go all anti-piracy moralizing on me - that, ahem, ship, had sailed long ago for 95% of this forum.
Totally understand. For me the pillows merch / CD's are what apple products are to apple fans. Just take my money Sawao!

Sawao is my spirit animal desu, kyan~ Also, Thom, please try to keep the posts contained rather than do an individual post for each track; you can just break up the songs by line breaks or ____________s or something, for future reference. GR had a point about the continuous posting - it actually makes the conversation slide downwards, in a sense, because instead of one very large post and many small posts, we have about a full page of just your posts, making it harder to navigate the conversation. NBD, I can just reformat that for you to clean it up this time.

And when I purchase, I PURCHASE.

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
They might not sell it digitally. I'm willing to bet the international sales off the last few attempts at iTunes sales didn't do as well, so they may not want to spend the money to get it hosted/distributed in that way if only a handful of us Westerners purchase (/purchase through digital, especially - most of us hardcore fans who buy stuff tend to like the bonus items and physical sense of ownership that comes with the CD releases).

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
Well, my reasoning is they put Stroll and Roll and the latest single up on itunes Japan, so...hopefully the album will follow?

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
Hopefully! Not really sure how it all works for them now that they're flying mostly solo. I can't remember if Stroll had a delay between physical and digital releases, but I'd assume a similar pattern as before or no digital for this one...guess time will tell!
I uh...am still listening to this album on loop most of my commuting time lol.

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)

Eager to share my take, I'm in a similar boat as other lurkers here, just waiting for a rip somewhere.
I strongly suggest you purchase the album In fact I actually ended up purchasing 4 copies (2 standard, 2 limited w/ DVD) so I'm probably going to be selling at least 1 of them shortly on eBay
Just curious, why 4 copies? Literally just to support them 4x as much? That's true dedication I'd probably buy it if it came out on iTunes, but I'm kind of in GR's boat on this one. I don't want to be the ants at a picnic, so I won't go into detail. I am very excited to hear the album!

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
I'm sure it'll hit iTunes...eventually...
It's a bit messed up that I keep talking up such a huge company but if anyone's thinking of going physical over digital, Amazon.co.jp will usually give a discounted price on CDs and a way cheaper + way faster international shipping option than your standard EMS. Plus, iTunes sucks because not lossless and no digital booklet. Even a site like Ototoy won't always offer lossless formats or digital booklets; in fact, they might not stock the release at all since labels usually seem to go with Japan-restricted digital sellers rather than Ototoy, who sell internationally.
