Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
I know I'm one to always be excited over new pillows albums, but this one has been on endless repeat for me so far. I'm loving it more than anything they've done in ages, it blows Stroll and Roll clean out if the water imo.
Maybe hasty to say so soon, but I feel like this is a top 5 pillows album for me. The flow is so goddamn perfect.

If you're gonna come with that talk, I wanna see a ranking. Which album is #6? (will offer my opinions once I can find this thing)

Picking an explicit number six is like being asked to sucker punch all the rest of the albums. :x
I would actually be hard-pressed to make an explicit top-5 list as well, in all honesty. I just know that this is rivaling Little Busters/Happy Bivouac for repeatability in my ears. Super punchy album.

any true Bussa who ain't frontin' knows it's The Trio, PML, and Living Fierudo (unless we're counting AMAP, in which case AMAP takes LF's spot). Just facts.

I'm excited to hear this all the way through, the hype is real ITT but everything I've heard in bits and pieces is pretty underwhelming Hoping that changes!

BEST PILLOWS ALBUM EVER. HANDS DOWN.
Actually I'm being patient until I can get a flac copy.
The question I will ponder as I smoke my pipe this evening: "Is Runners High top 5?"

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
I haven't listened to it in full yet but the songs I have heard just seem to sound kind of 'better' than the other recent ones in my opinion. They sound more pillowsy to me. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest!

I was actually underwhelmed by some of the track previews, but ended up liking the full songs and now think it was mostly a poor choice of which snippet to highlight lol.

If we're gonna be broad about what releases can be counted, though, Never Ending Story would come in at #5 for me, then Parts of OOParts at #7.
Yo Mare, you've taken the hype all the way up to a new level with your claim that Nook's in yr top 5.

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
NOOK's got a smoother flow from track to track than the majority of albums they've done, including LB and HB. I'm not going to try to compare apples to orange juice, but this album is damned juicy. Edit: always take my opinions with one heap of salt. But I truly think this album captures all of their best sounds since leaving King and greatly improves on them. I'm also smitten by Enerugia pt. 2 (You are the Zhelanie to which i move)...really the whole stretch from Pulse on is killer to my ears. Also, them YEAHHHHHHs.

I'd personally switch out Living Field for Smile or AMAP (but I admit, it is kinda cheating.)

Re: [2017/03/08] NOOK IN THE BRAIN (New album)
Chronological order for me at this moment (y'all know I love that PML most):
Kool Spice, Lostman, Runners High, TYMT, Nook
...maybe? HB or LB could swap with RH/TYMT depending on my mood; LF and Kool are something of a tossup for me as well. I think any five of these various albums would work well as an intro to plows to get someone hooked, and display the breadth of their style very well.
