Thanks guys! I needed some more copies of Tabasco Disco

I've only given the album one full listen so far. First impression is that it holds up well with the last couple of pillows albums, but I don't think it's going to blow away anyone who hated the recent albums. IMO it's not a super radical shift like Mare's post suggested, but it's solid stuff if you like modern pillows, and for me it had at least a couple of surprises. "Elliot" sounds nearly like a lost Please Mr. Lostman track, especially with its guitar tones. That probably stood out to me more than anything on the first time through, and relistening to the song now the resemblance feels even stronger.

Well I pre-ordered the limited edition and I'm still waiting for my album to get here, so I definitely try not to be unthankful whenever someone takes the time to upload stuff.

I'm definitely excited to get my hands on that poster though; I haven't had one come with an order since I got The Third Eye single back in 2005.

Is it a sort of OCD/"archival purposes" thing?.
Yes.

Also, sittingduck just posted the new album that most of you freeloaders were too cheap to buy, in the highest quality possible no less, and the first thing he's greeted with is "baaah, FLAC! Why people do this! "? Shit like this is exactly why I'm always so hesitant to help this community and all you get from me is a belated April Fool's joke of ten Tabasco Discos instead of the real album. Would it kill you just to give a simple "thanks" and not be such an insufferably negative pill in every post?
Thanks for answering my question, seriously. I get that people may have their own little quirks about this stuff. Like, I'm definitely guilty of keeping entire albums when I only like a few tracks from it - it feels weird to half only part of an album.

So, given that we know that peoples' ears aren't good enough to warrant the enormous file size of FLAC, I think it's worth asking why we do it at all. Didn't mean to come off as a hater, I'm genuinely appreciative of all efforts to upload new tracks. FLACs just always get an eyeroll from me, no matter the band.

You're under no obligation to buy and share. No one here is asking you to. I'm not sitting here, tapping my foot on an upload. Thanks for having some sense of humor earlier though, that was good

edit: thanks, sittingduck!
My copy came in today! I purchased the limited edition DVD version which came with this really nice poster! (and a tiny sticker  )

Who wants flac files?

Thanks! You are awesome.
I would be happy with any shitty rip (I would actually buy the album if I wasn't saving money for a hard drive), but this is FLAC too!
You don't know how grateful I am :groovin:

Thanks guys! You're all welcome.
I've only listened to it twice all the way though but I'm really enjoying it. I would give it a 7.5/10 as of now but I feel like this is the kind of Pillows album that is going to grow on me over time.
btw did anyone else instantly think of "today, she" when they heard the start of Subtropical Fantasy?

Finished my first listen. I am really digging Subtropical Fantasy. :groovin:

Thanks again!

Definitely! That's what made me go back to it after my initial listen.

And I know that the users of the forum aren't obligated to be grateful when someone does something nice, but isn't it just common decency? I think it sends the wrong message when a user who doesn't even post here often posts something nice and is then immediately greeted with something that completely ignores their effort. That is how we turn people away from being an active part of the community.

Even as the guy who tries to tune down piracy and encourage people to support the band, I know what it feels like to desperately want to hear a new album, but have to wait a week to receive my shipment from overseas. If I wasn't fortunate enough to be in Japan and get my slimy mitts on Stroll and Roll ASAP, I would be singing praises to sittingduck right now.
Maybe you don't have the same feeling as I do about hearing new stuff, but the album just got uploaded on the net for the first time and you are the only one who sounds like he is complaining (and maybe you don't mean to, but it comes off like that). There's a time and place to post your personal opinion on lossless music, and it isn't immediately after someone posts the new album.

But anyway... I don't mean to derail this thread. I hope you're all enjoying Stroll and Roll as much as I am.
Now back to listening to Tabasco Dis-- Rock'n'Roll to Taiyou.

I liked Trial and Horn Again (though each of them were dragged down by a couple of songs I'd consider weak), but I think I might like this more than either of them. It's early to say that for sure, but it's growing on me more with each listen. The changeup midway into I RIOT is fun as heck. Every song is solid, though the title track is probably my least favorite so far.

Post Re: New Album: STROLL AND ROLL - April 2016 release
Since we heard 5 of the tracks (Debris, Cuckoo, Radio, Stroll, Locomotion) from radio rips (and I've been listening to them all pretty heavily), I have been focusing on the other five.

Thoughts so far...
The sun and rock'n'roll. This song is just short and sweet. Really dig the chorus.
I RIOT is a fun track. I like the sirens and other bits of spice. This song was written to be performed with Sawao holding the mic in his hand and roaming about (like the recent Toy Doll performances), so you know it's gonna be really fun live.
Subtropical Fantasy and Boulderdash... both really nice.
Really nice melody in the verse of Eliot. I'm a bit indifferent about the chorus, though.

A couple other observations...
The Engrish track... there is none! This hasn't happened for several years.
Eliot ends in a fade out. Can't recall off the top of my head the last time they used a fade out.

Here you go, straight from the CD case. :shred:

"Blagodarnost" is a Serbian word meaning "acting in the interest of good; ethical (good intentions)", if this site is accurate.
