My knee-jerk impression: cool. There's some interesting bass in this song. Especially during that chord progression they play during the intro and after the first chorus. Seems like they're playing up Ueda

Yes, Ueda and Kashima [b]are[/b] in STROLL AND ROLL, but the bass in this track is played by JIRO (bassist of GLAY).

there was an announcement that both Kashima and Ueda as well as 3 other bassists are on the new album, so you probably heard about that somewhere.

btw the bassist on this song is Jiro (who also produced it)

Dreadfully dull, I have to say. This wouldn't have made a B-side cut ten years ago.

Not bad, nothing great. Doesn't give me much hope that it's a single off the new album.

Doesn't it seem like an outro? Like, I hit play, and I feel like I'm late in the fourth minute of a power ballad. And the song just started.

For some reason, I imagine them wanting to actually shoot on site somewhere abandoned for the PV, but then Sato's bad hips prevented it, so they just green screened instead.

But there sure is a lot of CGI-based pillows PVing lately, wonder what's the deal behind that, whether it's something Sawao is super into or it's just their video director's thing these days.

Edit: Also, I liked the song, but I feel like throwing that out there is just redundant at this point with me lolol. Sawao does some cool things rhythmically with his vocals on this one, lyrics are solid.

Has anyone done a translation? if so link please!

I think what makes it really boring for me is the rhythm guitar; he's just slamming away throughout the entire song and not really saying much in the process. The vocal melody is nice and I'm right there with his words, but I'm also trying to hear the lead parts, and I can't hear all of it because it sounds squashed underneath the mix, and the cool part where the lead syncs up with the vocals twice in the chorus, I can barely hear it when it should be [i]sparkling[/i]. It seems like Lily, My Sun all over again, just strangled into rock paste.

Try to remember that it's probably at least a bit compressed up on the video there.

EDIT: Also, I feel like most of this song is meant to have the two guitars blend together, ESPECIALLY on the chorus. The interplay is mostly based on the two guitar rhythms bouncing off of each other at that part of the song. Peep the very last section of the song when they start doing the higher chord voicings, sounds great.

It sounds like Sawao heard Wakusekichi Beowulf by Ging Nang Boyz, and decided he wanted to write his own version of it. Especially noticeable at the end of the chorus.
