I've been playing Midnight Sun by the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl). Sean, (though I imagine he might get tired of comparisons) really resembles his dad these days, and their music is reminiscent of late Beatles. I love psych, so it's really pleasing for me.

While I have been in Japan, one of my side-quests has been to visit many Book-Off, Tsutaya, other stores that sell used CDs, and buy a bunch for cheap. So far I have purchased or rented some CDs that were on my hit-list, including albums from The Chewinggum Weekend, The Castanets, Flying Kids, O.P KING, Novels, HiGE, Takeuchi Denki, etc. The most I have paid for anything so far is 500 yen. Most have been only 100 yen.
Plus, this past week both Moondust and Okuda Tamio's 20th anniversary album set were released. My ears have been busy with that stuff.

I made a list on my phone of bands to look for next time I go used CD hunting. I always get overwhelmed and forget what to look for once I have hundreds of CDs in front of me.

Oh neat, my dad used to work for Prince and was there when they were recording Let's Go Crazy. Talented man, yes, but I understand he's really mean. Not sure if that's even a surprise, though.

Seems like a Parsley Sage, Rosemary, & Thyme kind of day. I love Flowers Never Bend, it's maybe one of my favorites of theirs.

Whoa! That's awesome!

I get the impression he's not the nicest guy, but does your dad have any stories?

The stories I hear about are more of arrogance and rudeness, such as the time Prince threw his guitar at my dad.. not as an attack, but just expecting him to catch it. I can imagine if he hadn't caught it Or, instead of asking nicely, him just coming in the room and throwing his car keys at my dad and saying "I have a flat tire," and walking out. Not super malicious per se, but quite impolite to a normal person. I suppose ~rockstars~ get like that, haha.

This is Prince's world. We're merely inhabiting it.

You can listen to their weekly podcast(?) with it that's hosted by a man who sounds like a cool version of Moss from The IT Crowd. Each episode has about 15-20 songs.
