It [i]was[/i] on the official site, on the discography page for the album IIRC. Now it shows Buster-kun with the words NOW PRINTING. It's funny that they would change the image

It doesnt seem so bad to me anyway. Yeah its unusual, but it doesnt put me off like Ooparts and Horn Again. I like that they blurred the foreground to emulate the focus on the lions, as if a nature photographer took the shot. It feels like a different take on the My Foot cover. Its alright.

My beef with the Moondust cover, as with a bunch of their covers, is that it looks so stockphoto-esque. In fact, you can literally run many of the album and single covers though Google image search or Tineye and find the very stock photos that they use for the covers.

I admit that I haven't been able to find the exact stock photo that they used for Moondust's cover, but it's probably only a matter of time. It just feels like such little effort was put into this cover. "Find stock photo, run through filter, slap on pillows logo and Impact font. Boom. New cover art." This is the exact formula they used for Horn Again and others.
I wasn't crazy about Trial's cover, but at least it had some original art and non-Impact font for the title. I guess I feel disappointed in this art for Moondust because it has almost been 3 years since Trial, yet this cover feels so effortless.
I made the alpaca version of the Moondust cover in less than 5 minutes, and it feels about as legit as the real cover.

Perhaps they are being frugal about who they task to do the work, like close friends. Does Avex have any say in this? It sure seems like the band would prefer to think of an idea and then have the art team find it rather than set up a shot in a location. Could be a number of things. Could simply be scheduling problems. Whatever the case, they like "simple" and "fast" these days. Maybe its what suits them best in their personal lives these days.
