I just had a goofy idea. Our beloved band almost exists for 25 years now and they made a lot of great songs. We all have our favorites, but I'm curious which songs 'as a forum' we love the most. So the idea is that you can pick 10 songs of all their songs (also covers they've done) and from each member's personal list there will originate one great list.
Every song that is on someone's list gets 1 point. The song with the most points will be on number one...the song with the least votes will be ranked lowest. There may be some songs that have an equal amount of votes...I haven't figured out yet how to rank those songs. Anyway, I all invite you to make a list of 10 personal favorite songs. A nice story to some songs on why they are special to you would be nice
I am just curious about the personal favorites of other members, their stories and how they relate to the personal favorite songs of the other members. Of course this is not a threat for bitching which song is
'better'

Damn this thread, lol. I could go through my playlist and maybe pick a top 100, but a top 10? When I look I'm like "Ok so this song, this song, etc." and I already have 4 songs and I didn't even get off the first playlist. The only way this is gonna work for me is if I pick a favorite song from the first 10 albums.

Even just peeping at iTunes to see which songs have been played most doesn't give me a real strong feeling of what's best.

The only song that might carve out a spot by default in my pillows top 10-- and I'm being a penis just bringing it up again for the millionth time-- would be a full-length of the original Liberty. If the short version we have is any indicator, then a full-length recording of that song would be face-meltingly good. But that's all speculation.

As things stand, a top 10 that encompasses their whole discography is just too tough to come up with. Hell, with some albums, it can be hard to decide on a favorite song. It tends to change for me, depending on my mood.

This is the best I could do, cause I'll change my mind if I think about it too long.

Maybe I'll edit a song or 2. The last two I'm not very sure about.
Another Morning is a new favorite of mine. I'm really excited to hear that song live.
The upper 4 were no-brainer. Tonight is a good one, but it had to compete with some other songs of WI. Daydream Wonder vs. Monochrome Lovers was a tough battle. Runners High won against Little Busters and Gazelle City. Hybrid Rainbow is suitable for the hybrid tenth place xD.
Most of these songs are among the first of songs I've listened to and stuck with me till now. Notably Tiny Boat, Sono Mirai Wa Ima, Tonight and Runners High.

So, we are two years later now. The pillows have stayed with me, through thick and thin. My top 10 has changed though. I would omit Strange Chameleon, Another Morning and Hybrid Rainbow After the rain. And in place of these songs I would put in Ano hi to onaji sora no shita de, Beautiful Picture and In Front of a Locked Door. So now my list would look like this:

Kanojo wa Kyou (One of my earliest favorites by them, the chorus is too good.)
One Life (One of my first loves, especially for the guitar. Love the video, love the reverby ambience to the vocals, love this song).
Ice Pick (Loved the melody of this one forever. Especially the Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah)
No Self Control (The chorus....dat chorus.)
White Summer... (Always been one of my favorites. When Sawao screams that last verse...right in the feels)
Come On, Ghost (between this and Robotman, but this wins out due to a sentimental lead as it's my brother's favorite pillows song. He's not a huge fanatic like me, so the fact that we share that together is nice)
Sunday (One of my favorite early songs by them, great guitar, great melody, so fun and upbeat)
Midnight Down (between this and Wake Up, Frenzy...but Midnight Down wins for it's chorus-y pre-chorus that you just gotta love).
Fool On The Planet (it's my username almost everywhere but here...I've loved this one ever since seeing an old live of it at some festival. It got me in love with the song, and Manabe's Mustang)
Hello Girl (Probably my favorite early songs by them. It was to be my cover entry in the contest until life got in the way. I've loved this song for as long as I can remember, can't help but sing the chorus, and the guitar work is awesome.

I'm sure I've made some huge oversights, but this is my list, strictly from memory and heart, without looking at my collection. All of their songs have spoken to me at one point or another, but these 10 are my bread and butter, if you will.

P.S. C'mon everyone, how boring can you be!? It's not like you can only listen to these 10 songs for the rest of your life, it's just a list of songs that you like! Even if it's not your list a month from now, just play along!
