I think I might agree with that so far.

It's not just an original take on the song, but there's still something very transcendental to the band's sound about it. It's basically what I'd imagine Last Dinosaur would sound like if Sawao had been caught in some sort of space-time distortion and wound up writing the song in '97 or so instead lol.

Fucking NAILED it, dude. Great cover, great video. You had a few notes that were a little bit off, but you definitely did far better than you claimed you would.

I don't want to trash-talk too hard, but the Ovlov cover's gibberish instead of actually trying to learn the lyrics was fucking insulting, in my opinion. Yeah, Japanese can be hard to pronounce, that's fine, but you don't just disrespect a culture and particularly a band that you're supposedly doing a cover honoring by acting like their words are meaningless. The exact damn opposite of the care that terra put into her English Hybrid Rainbow cover.

I had commented saying "Why would you not even bother actually learning the lyrics properly? It's one thing to have some pronunciation issues, Japanese can be hard, but it's kind of rude to the band to be like 'fuck it, who cares about the words' like that."

Did you listen to their cover? They literally were just making up a bunch of gibberish in between a lot of the phrases and adding extra syllables all over because they spent 5 hours on it and didn't care enough about the pillows to try learning the song they covered. That level of not-giving-a-fuck about something that's supposedly a tribute for my favorite band is guaranteed to piss me off lol.
