While I was working at Publix, I heard these songs played at the store: Marshall Crenshaw - Someday, Someway The Cure - Friday I'm in Love

Re: What are you currently listening to?
The new Pains Of Being Pure At Heart album is streaming on YouTube: http://youtu.be/WCb8Zg3mGYoThis album is fantastic, highly recommended if you like stuff like The Smiths and White Incarnation-era Pillows. Lots of awesome jangly guitar playing and great melodies. Their first two albums had hints of brilliance but this is by far the best thing they've ever done.

This is my frontrunner for Album Of The Year so far: Kelly, Masokissed, Simple And Sure, Eurydice, and Life After Life are all particularly awesome.

Great picks. I haven't dug super deep into the new album, but those tracks in particular are very Smithsy, and therefore, totally up my alley.
While I appreciate this newer, cleaned up sound, I think Belong had a really nice mix of good production and heavy overdriven sounds. Songs like Heaven's Gonna Happen Now, Even in Dreams, Too Tough, and Belong (especially) stood out to me for being having really gutsy "wall of sound" dynamics that I absolutely loved. It's like it built on some of the things in the s/t, but focused the guitar punch a bit more.
Either way, I think they've sounded great in all of their albums and I'm sure I'm going to adore this album. I just want a bit more of those heavy fuzzy choruses.
edit: they toured with Fear of Men, dunno if you've heard of them. You might dig em, (check out the chorus around 2:15) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz2kpZaVMgk

That album was alright. Listened to it yesterday. It feel short of what I expected from your post though, thinline!

For you shoegaze lovers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fik8J1FXcngI don't know what it is about this song, but it was very captivating to me. Gets me in my early-90s nostalgia feels.

Check out this crazy thing.
I've never heard of this Sumire Uesaka before but Narasaki from Coaltar Of The Deepers wrote the music and it pretty much sounds like one of their songs. This video is awesome, it's packed with all sorts of classic videogame stuff.
