Kenji Ueda, though.

I've been thinking about it since I heard the news.

Who the heck are the opening bands? Never heard of 'em in my life.

Also, most of the bands on the 25th anniversary tribute album are completely out of left field for me (though 9mm and Scars Borough doing covers for them is pretty sweet).

Sweet. The covers by HiGE and Kaminarigumo are the ones I'm looking most forward to.

Also, I just noticed that they're releasing a bunch of the DVDs in Blu-ray form.
The "blu-ray box", which includes 9 blu-rays, costs 220+ bucks on Amazon Japan right now.

So, just for this tour or permanent? (Also, hopefully not a retirement tour) It also has me curious as to what songs they'll play.

I can't imagine it's a retirement tour after having just released a single. I can see a new album in Jan or Feb. also, I'd hope they'd tour the US once more before retiring.

They could also pull a Beatles and retire from touring before they actually retire for good.

9 discs?

This better be tour footage from the 90s! :shred: :shred: :shred: :shred:

Anyways, no. Ueda is playing with them for one night only. I hope they play a bunch of early album material and release it with all those DVDs.

They really are going all out. I'm excited.

Edit: Oh, it's just old DVDs in blue-ray. Lol who cares. Better be some new footage up in thar.

There should definitely be at least one disc full of unseen live footage. Or I'd be disappoint.

Unseen or completed footage/better quality footage (like the clips we see on youtube all the time.)

Nah, the Blu-ray box is just:

LOSTMAN GO TO AMERICA THE PILLOWS MY FOOT TOUR IN USA
Wake up! Stand up! and Go! -the pillows Wake up! Tour 2007.10.08 @Zepp Tokyo
PARTS OF OOPARTS
LOSTMAN GO TO BUDOKAN
BORN AGAIN 2011.04.24 at Zepp Tokyo“HORN AGAIN TOUR"
PIED PIPER GO TO YESTERDAY (2 discs)
BLUE SONG WITH BLUE POPPIES
REAL TRIAL 2012.06.16 at Zepp Tokyo"TRIAL TOUR"

I'm pretty sure, at least. Don't expect anything super awesome/something we haven't seen. Just kind of cool to have them in HD.
Also, that one night only Kenji Ueda show better be released in blu-ray. :shred:

FWIW, the email HMV sent about the upcoming release listed:

Lostman Goes To America
Wake Up! Stand Up! And Go!
Pied Piper Go To Yesterday
Lostman Go To Budokon
Parts of Ooparts
Born Again

That's 7/9....here's hoping that the other 2 are something interesting, or it could just be other previous releases...

I'd like the box if I could drop 300$ on pillows DVDs and if I had a BluRay player.
But alas....

The only ones I don't have are the first two, so I could sell the rest if I wanted this really badly.

It's funny that all these old rock stars are putting out their videos in high quality now that they're all wrinkly.

Any idea if any of them were actually filmed in higher-than-SD resolution?

Man, wonder the setlist they're gonna play with Ueda.

The cover bands do seem pretty out of left field. Looking forward to the Base Ball Bear cover.

Looking forward to BBB, Kaminarigumo, and that 9mm. I'm not too big on 9mm drums, so I want to see what they do with Instant Music. I'm also looking forward to the new attempt at Hybrid Rainbow. BoC's was okay.
