Re: What are you currently listening to?
Anyone ever listened to supercell? I was just browsing their vevo and they sound pretty cool.
They give me that pumped feeling that pillows use to give me (like the pillows)
They are 'okay' from what i've listened to.

Been listening to Keep Me in Your Heart by Warren Zevon a bit, and some rockabilly...Rock Around the Clock by Bill Halley and also Gene and Eddie by the Stray Cats. Great guitar work there.

I bought Demon Days and after listening to the album all the way through I started enjoying a lot of the meh tracks when I first went through it. Same as your Plastic Beach experience Mare.

Nothing in particular http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbXvvYZd-3g and the pillows
Om nom new Hard Girls. Somehow I missed this song, thanks for linking it here.
This song kicks ass. This is the first I've heard of Hard Girls. Googling them doesn't yield a whole lot, aside from videos of "girls getting fucked hard", etc. Any info on these guys? Are they indie or something?

Hit me up if you want some of their stuff, you should listen to them for sure. I will also give you Hard Girls. EDIT: Actually, this is where I got the Hard Girls album, looks like it might still be up: http://quoteunquoterecords.com/qur035.htmYou might have to add id3 data or something though, I don't remember.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
TYLER, THE MOTHER FUCKING CREATOR https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lDqMx4rmFUGOLFWANG edit: Seriously, this guy. It's refreshing a mainstream rapper step in front of the mic and talk about shit that doesn't revolve how rich and successful they are.
refreshing.

Girl, you fucking with my emotions... I'll lose a couple screws in due time, I'll stop breathing And you'll see the meaning of stalking When I pop out the dark to find you And that new dude that you're seeing with an attitude Then proceed to fuck up your evening...
And if I see that nigga (If I see him) I just might kill him (look) (Look. I wanna strangle you, till you stop breathing) Love, love, love....
Dunno, bro. Sounds like more of the same "our love is so intense it's literally physically and emotionally violent." Like the same shit in Love The Way You Lie by Eminem and Rhianna. Somehow the notion that violence, hatred, intimidation, name-calling, jealousy, and control the badges of honor of a "worthy" relationship really sell well in mainstream hip hop now. And shit, in mainstream lots of stuff. And let's all take a moment to notice how it's the guys who keep repeating the trope - that they can prove their love and commitment with physical and emotional violence. There aren't a lot of female voices rapping in the same way.
So, no. I don't find that refreshing. I would rather hear Kanye rap about how many Mercedes Benzes he drives than hear him (or another guy, like Tyler) turn fighting and controlling behavior into a metaphor for love. I would rather see young listeners get hype about wanton materialism than partner-abuse.
Not trying to be a downer here, it's just that this shit is actually the opposite of revolutionary.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
There is more to Tyler than that. He doesn't like the way most people view him, so he 'acts out'. He uses his immaturity and young age as a crutch for his exaggerated passive aggression (and probably his regrettable use of the word 'faggot'). Thoughout his album Goblin he makes it a point to remind the listeners that "this is fiction." Maybe I'm putting Tyler on a pedestal, but I can relate to most of his songs to a point where it's a little disturbing. You can't take his lyrics about rape and shit at face value, but I understand why you don't like it. I mean fuck, it's rape. If you wanna give him another chance, give the song Bastard a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFTLouiUFjI
