Isn't the game, hentai?
I wouldn't mind. And what do you mean by 'resolutions'?

 Re: Anime (other than FLCL)
Metal, the Clannad game has no H content whatsoever. What I meant by resolutions is that you can play through each of the characters stories with more fleshed-out endings for each of them.

 Re: Anime (other than FLCL)
Hm. I might have to look into it.
It's a rather shame it isn't hentai oriented.
But I'll look into it. Thanks!

 Re: Anime (other than FLCL)
Re-watched a few episodes of Big O the other night. Best show ever, IMO.

 Re: Anime (other than FLCL)
Pretty much any anime with equally high acting, art direction, animation, characters, plot, pacing, etc.. This is why I, for the most part, don't watch anime anymore. I'll watch the occasional movie. That's about it. The last series I remember being up to par wast Xam'd: Lost Memories. It'll be a good day in Japan when the average consumers have that "Holy schnikes, most of what I watch every day is absolute shit." epiphany.

Pretty sure average entertainment watched by average consumers is similar to average entertainment watched by average consumers in the United States: absolute shit. I don't think any one country has a disproportionate amount of high-quality yet-disposable mainstream media. That's a big claim, so let's just stick to Japan vs. US for now.

Just curious. I watch a decent amount of anime, mostly slice of life series and the like that more or less lack a plot, although I do a decent amount of non-slice of life series, the most recent one I got really into that comes to mind is Fractale, Madoka, etc. and then comedy shows like Binbougami Ga (which I fucking loved) and Gintama.
Also, I agree with GR.
Alsoalso, in Japanese, I think the name for Jersey Shore is マカロニ野郎/Macaroni Yarou, and I saw it literally translated somewhere as Macaroni Rascals, although I thought 野郎 carried a harsher meaning than just rascal, lol.

 Re: Anime (other than FLCL)
Now that's a hard one. I watched a lot of anime in my younger years, but, from what I remember, most of it wasn't really.. good. I suppose I can list what I remembered and enjoyed.
Evangelion Samurai Champloo FLCL Black Lagoon Cowboy Bebop Eden of the East Haruhi Suzumiya Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari Baccano!
Just some serialized anime off the top of my head. I excluded movies because I believe they have a tendency to be inherently better due to condensed resources. Anyway, yea. They seem like obvious, mainstream choices, and I guess they really are. But they're my gold standard for a reason. If I had to narrow it down: Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, and FLCL. These three are perfect in their own respects. I know I sound like an arrogant prick saying this, but I just feel insulted and pissed when every anime I watch turns out to be the same old geriatric coffee table dog shit. My time is more valuable than that. Maybe I'm just being biased. Who knows. I don't even like animu that much anymore. I suppose that's why I only wanna watch really good shit.
Btw, I found out yesterday that Evangelion 3.0 came out in theaters last month in Japan. I've had a boner ever since.
edit: i know these are some of the most incoherent words that i've ever thrown together on this forum. sorry.

And yeah, I'd your tastes a bit mainstream, although those are all more or less solid, respected titles. If you want some recommendations, check out Serial Experiments Lain, Madoka (if you haven't already seen it), and probably Steins;Gate. Save for Madoka, these titles aren't nearly as action heavy as the other ones, but they're all a bit more psychological than the average animu, especially Lain. Also, I'd say you don't really sound like an arrogant prick, just sort of a disillusioned anime fan. A lot of anime fans, especially when they start off getting into it and when they're getting over being into it, they think of it as a whole or even a genre unto itself. Like, replace anime in the statement "but I just feel insulted and pissed when every anime I watch turns out to be the same old geriatric coffee table dog shit" with film, television show, etc. and it'll just sound kind of silly because there's so many different releases and they're all targeted towards different demographics. Quite a few of the series you listed are 10+ years old or around there, most are 5+ years old. It's just one of those things where like the past looks much better than the present time because you're speaking of classics instead of the 90s anime equivalent of a show about a boy whose dog turns out to be an alien maid who wants his dick, while having to fight off the girl next door who wants his dick (and is actually an angel in disguise), and his busty 8 year old sister wants his dick, and even the president of the United States, who gets turned into a gorgeous woman because he pissed off a Syrian wizard, wants his dick.

This is literally the trope killing anime as an entertainment medium.
