Actually, now that I think about it, the vocals are pretty clear in most of their music, not just the early stuff. Although this album is entirely English, the later records are mostly in Japanese.
When I think of records where the vocals get drowned out, the Albini-esque School Girl Distortional Addict is one of the first that comes to mind.
Also, Laurentech is a great great song.

Re: What are you currently listening to? The vocals aren't really drowned out in SGDA.  Why you would pick that out of hundreds of shoegaze bands that actually drown out the vocals as your example is beyond me.
