It has been a long time since the pillows have participated in a tribute album. I guess the last time was in 2002 when they covered the song "1.2.3.4.5.6.7 DAYS A WEEK" by The Collectors.

Well, coming out July 4th is "PUFFY COVERS"; a tribute to the duo PUFFY. The pillows will be covering the song "[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TMh-syVVng]海へと[/url]" (Ume e to).

Yamanaka has previously worked with PUFFY contributing the songs "[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCfVHIfGbbg]Sayonara Summer[/url]", "[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwNMszwm0uw]complaint[/url]" and "[url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCI1nO4liRU]Twilight shooting star![/url]". (Here's a useless tidbit... Keji Ueda did the arrangement for "Twilight shooting star!". I smell a pillows reunion, man.)

Any PUFFY fans here? I guess they have somewhat of a following outside Japan, with that cartoon and all... I don't particularly like them myself, but some of the greatest musicians in Japan have written songs for them. I know a lot of their songs from "cover" versions by the original artists.

They're covering it because it has "oh yeah" in the lyrics right? I don't know about a reunion, Kenji pops up every once in while, but hardly seems to work with them. Atleast from what i've seen.

Spitz is covering the song that THEY WROTE for Puffy that they've ALREADY RECORDED themselves.

Yeah. A lot of this album looks like rehash. I know of 4 of these songs which have been long recorded and released. Some of the others are being covered by the artists who wrote them.
