This sounds pretty good. I'm interested in hearing more. They sound pretty different.

A friend of mine got me into them a year ago. My favorite is "TK in the 夕景."

Anyone listen to TK's solo album that dropped last month? It's good stuff, continuing some of that spacey experimental stuff with more varied instrumentation from Toshite's last couple albums. I really like it. I still wonder why he decided to release this as a solo album... sounds like Rin Toshite to me. Ah well.

Edit: Okay. I guess the instrumentation is so varied that it'd make it hard for Shigure some of these songs as a band. So I think I'm beginning to see the bigger differences.

Haven't been paying as much attention because the last release or two didn't suit me as well, so I hadn't heard about that. Got a link you could throw my way, or the title of the album?

I know what you mean. Still a Sigure Virgin? Didn't do much for me either. Though Just A Moment might be my favorite album from them.

Click the second download link.

Has it only been Still a Sigure Virgin since Just A Moment? Because Just a Moment was pure Ling badassery, Sigure Virgin was just kind of...bland for me. I'll give it another try later though, so who knows. Thanks for the link.

Edit: They should have done this instead of Sigure Virgin. Seriously, for the live performances, they could get a few stage musicians, they're big enough now to be able to afford that.

Nothing's come out since Still a Sigure Virgin. It goes, #4, Inspiration is Dead, Just a Moment, then Still a Sigure Virgin for the lengths. And I know what you mean about Still a Sigure Virgin. I didn't think it was a bland album, I just thought it was clunky and waaaaaaaaaay too tedious sounding, without actually accomplishing anything musically half the time.

But yeah, Flowering is great. A great addition to the Ling discog.

That's exactly what I meant when I said bland. There was a lot going on, just not a lot that was actually interesting and went anywhere.

Have you heard their early demos and stuff? In addition to the albums, I have Sawayaka na Satsujin, #1, #2, #3, and Toshite, of which only #2 has only tracks that aren't released later in fuller arrangements (hearing the early versions of songs is really cool though), and Feeling your UFO, which came after #4 and was ep-length. If you haven't heard those yet, you should let me know if you need downloads, stuff is badass.

I got the Flowering CD + DVD. The live performances are pretty great. It's a terrific album, Phase to Phrase and 12th Laser are the real standouts for me, though. It's obvious why this was a solo album, Sigure is a power trio and doesn't use a lot of overdubs or additional instrumentation. TK wanted to mess around with bigger arrangements, more instruments, and glitchy production techniques, as hinted on songs like a 7days wonder and Shandy.

I don't get the dislike for Sigure Virgin, though. eF is pretty bland and Illusion Is Mine is probably the closest they've come to making a straightforward, unremarkable tune, but the rest of the album is great, especially This is is this? and Replica.
