I'm pretty psyched for it, hopefully they'll flesh out the Persona 3 roster.
I think they will, but there's some P4 characters that are missing too (Adachi/Magatsu Izanagi is the most glaring omission to me, but I guess since it's a canon game they can't do that).
Oh, I finished P4 today by the way. What a wholly satisfying game. I need to play Xenoblade but I'm tempted to start up a New Game + anyway...

Re: What are you playing?
I just finished Tecmo Secret of the Stars (SNES.) God, it was terrible. I couldn't imagine doing it without a guide for certain parts. Also: Poor translation job due to the translator being Japanese. E.g. "galuda," "clarken" (Garuda; Kraken...)
Thinking about trying to play through Mother 1 or 2 to completion next.

Re: What are you playing?
Been getting the urge to try and play ActRaiser 2 on hard. Enix made that game hard enough to begin with but they had to go and give you one of those "Congratulations for getting this far but if you want to fight Tanzra you have to play it on a higher difficulty, Thanks for playing and good luck!" ending screens. I got to Humbleton on Normal but that was a long time ago and I don't have the passwords anymore... I'm just gonna say I would have been capable of finishing on normal and move to hard this time.

Re: What are you playing?
I preferred Actraiser 1. There was something about the sim element to it that I really liked that I felt was really lacking in number two. Nonetheless, good luck on your endeavor.

Re: What are you playing?
Almost immediately after I posted that, I discovered this: http://vgauntlet.wikia.com/wiki//v/_Gauntlet_Wiki You choose a game at random and you get three days to complete it once you start, without using save states or other forms of assistance. RPG games get one week. I rolled Mega Man 2 for my NES game and was like "shiiiiiit, I gotta do this now, I've beaten that game so many times!" What luck. I'm up to DOS tier currently, I downloaded DOSbox but I haven't attempted to figure out how to get games to run because I want to take a break from the gauntlet. Over the past week I've beaten these randomly chosen games: NES - Mega Man 2 SNES - The Combatribes Game Boy/ Game Boy Color - Blue's Clues: Blue's Alphabet Book (LOL) Genesis - Arcus Odyssey TurboGrafx-16 - Chase H.Q. If time runs out you have to move back one tier and roll again. On consoles I started a save in Valkyria Chronicles, and I'm waiting for Naughty Dog to release the next patch for Uncharted 3 so I can try to get the scooped in booster upgraded. They had the medal set at three kills at 70 meters in one match... Problem is most maps don't have a 70 meter shot you can even attempt! They are rolling it back to 50 meters. My brother bought Diablo 3 but the computer wouldn't run it, something about the motherboard or the graphics card. He's just going to get a new computer, so hey, I guess I get this one. I would have loved to keep the first computer we had for small potatoes things but he went caveman on it with a sledge hammer.
God help the sorry bastard who gets the first Mega Man.
I'd feel worse for the unlucky bastard that gets Mike Tyson's Punch Out! Trying to beat Iron Mike without savestates is god-awful. In other news, I beat Earthbound 0. Really great, fun game. Very polished for its time. Now, time to begin playing Earthbound.

Re: What are you playing?
I was checking gamefaqs on Valkyria Chronicles to see if a particular level I had beaten had any aces to kill (it did not) and I noticed in a lot of walkthroughs people suggesting saving and loading if things go wrong. FUCK THAT. I didn't even know you could save mid-mission. There is nothing wrong with failure. I understand why you may want to do so in certain places because some risky action that you must preform may have dire consequences, but I feel the missions in this game should be played start to finish. Failure is not wasted time, it legitimizes the challenge and provides motivation and knowledge to help you conquer it next time. Through trial and error I discovered that you can beat the Barious Desert skirmish in two turns, not from reading anyone's faq. Oh yeah, and I beat that mission that everyone cries about with Maximilian's fuck-huge tank in one try. CAUSE I'M A FUCKIN' BEAST. (It took 17 turns but who's counting?)

Re: What are you playing?
I just had a fucking blast playing through this game, and that's not something I can say often. I get this kind of.. distinct joy from a video game maybe once every couple of years. This is a game that I can go on and on about without worrying about hyping it up too much and risking someone else's enjoyment of the game. Everything is so well done. The retro pixel art, the charming characters and story, the platforming, the shoot 'em up gunplay, the music. Everything. The difficulty can be a bit sketchy at points if you're new to anything resembling a shoot 'em up game, like me, but that won't matter because the game's atmosphere will just keep dragging you back in and forcing to sit down and play it. All that aside, this game is more than a retro indie platformer. As you're progressing through the game you aren't analyzing anything. You're just experiencing it in a Valve-esque kind of way. There is something there. Something that makes Cave Story's world breathe - something that makes its heart beat. Something that ties everything that's great about this game together into something that's much more than the sum of its parts. Something you can't quite put your finger on. Anyway... just play it. It's free. You can download the game and an English patch from a fansite. Also, everything you see in this game was done by one man over the course of three years. Here's some music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30JZylPUmz0

Re: What are you playing?
Yeah, Doukutsu Monogatari is one of the sweetest independent games ever. What took you so long to play it is what I'm wondering.

Re: What are you playing?
Even though I read a lot of gaming press crap and generally try to keep up with the industry, I don't have a lot of actual exposure to games lol. I like more to hear and read about them than to buy them. They're so expensive haha. Anyway, I heard about Cave Story here and there when the 3DS version came out that Danny B did the soundtrack remix for, but I just recently heard Anthony Burch refer to it as "the indie game to end all indie games." I took his word for it because he's a big advocate of indie games and tried it out, aaaand it was pretty awesome!

Re: What are you playing?
Finally playing Bastion. Believe the hype, shit is pretty cool. Very polished and the music is really solid - has a very "Firefly" vibe to it. I'll be a total contrarian hipster, though, and say I find the intense smokiness/world-wiseness of the narrator to be overdone and kind of pandering. It's a little Narmy: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Narm
