Going to the midnight premier with a bunch of friends...not my choice (not a big super hero kind of guy) but I'm pretty pumped. I liked the Captain America movie, and this looks pretty epic.
That sounds awesome! I miss going to midnight showings for films. Having a kid makes it kind of hard, though, lol.

The trailers for this movie look promising and all of the recent Marvel films have been pretty good, so I'm pretty interested in seeing it. Let us know your thoughts about it after the premiere!
I thought it was pretty good, for as much as they crammed into it. Some cheesiness. Plenty of witty repartee from Iron Man. Part of our group got tickets for one showing that was sold out by the time the rest of the group got there, and the showing right after that was sold out too. Usually movies don't sell out that fast here. Apparently it broke box office records this weekend.

Also, stay until the VERY END of the credits. There's more than one bonus scene. :D

It was a good crossover/team movie, full of action and funny dialogue and one-liners. However, it didn't really have that great of a story. Don't go in expecting one or else you're going to be sorely disappointed. I'm honestly shocked at how well the ratings are for this movie compared to the Captain America one, which I think, as a film, was much better than this. That's not to say that I didn't love it. I plan on seeing it again soon.

The Avengers did not disappoint. It was funny and had a lot of great action scenes. All of the Hulk scenes were BRILLIANT.

I agree, Captain America was better put together. Plus, it had more abs.

Haven't gotten around to seeing The Avengers yet, but I just finished I Saw the Devil. Best revenge movie I've seen since Oldboy. Fucking fantastic.

That was a pretty fucked up movie. Good, but still really fucked up. @_@

Lol, it was.
Come to think of it, the lead actor in Oldboy is the main villain in I Saw the Devil. Great acting all around.

"Have you seen The Avengers yet?"

I've heard that eight or so times in the past few days. :)

My brother and I watched Moon, The Man from Earth, and K-PAX over the past two days. I recommended Oldboy to him the other night, we're gonna watch it together soon. I hope he enjoys it :D

Dark Shadows was pretty funny. I really enjoyed the style and direction of the movie. Go see it if you can. ^_^

Just watched Lars Von Trier's Melancholia. Jesus fuck, it was depressing. Trier's last few films have been that way for me. I remember after watching Antichrist, I didn't feel like doing anything for the rest of the day. Shit's emotionally draining.

Snow white was okay... Not what I was hoping for but Charlize Theron did her shit right. The story was very weak and Kristen Stewart single handedly killed the entire movie. Battleship on the other hand was a very good watch, I found myself enjoying its cheesy humor. ^_^

I've been wanting to watch that (Melancholia). But I don't need the depressions. o_o

I know Snow White will be kind of bad but I still want to see it... Charlize looks so cool.

Plan: Prometheus tomorrow!
I reeeally wanna see Chronicle. I would be willing to go to a theater to see it, which is saying a lot considering I've probably only been to a movie theater 5 times within the last 10 years.
I watched it tonight and thought it was great. Recommended.

Other great movies I've seen recently include Prometheus, Monsters, Troll Hunter, and, quite to my surprise, Thor.

I've seen a lot of other stuff recently, too, but I can't remember them all... I think I might finish the Mysterians tonight.

I watched "Meet Joe Black" last night and it was pretty good. It has Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt. Pitt plays death, attempting to go on a "vacation" among the living. It was very clever but could have been written better I think, to me the ending was too abrupt and didn't flow well with the story.
