 Re: Tedious Man
I thought Jun was on bass for that song, along with everything but The Devil's Pub. Isn't that what the scans say?

REALLY? I have no idea what the scans say. If that's true, GO JUN. I'm super impressed with the bass playing on most of this album.

 Re: Tedious Man
Ohp, my bad. Akiko Fukuoka did Old Sundial and Youth Club. Kashima did Devil's Pub, and Jun did all the rest (with specification for "upright bass" on absurd song).

 Re: Tedious Man
This is great. I was thinking Kashima did all the bass playing.
Wow. I really love the bass in Vacant House, Devil's Pub, Old Sundial, Rehab, and well... most songs, save maybe Beautiful Lip (meh) and Doll (what bass, lol), and Do You Like a Walk (I was much more taken by the guitar work on that one). Jun and Akiko are alright, in my book.

 Re: Tedious Man
The fact that they have different musicians for each song is awesome - a step forward imo.

 Re: Tedious Man
Well, that shouldn't be any surprise, really. Sawao's solo work doesn't enlist a "band" band. It's his own personal works that he adapts to whatever people work. Sometimes it's Jun, other times Akiko, and we even get some Kashima.
I think the bass in one of the things I enjoy most about this album. Discharge had some good bass in it to. I'll have to go check and see if Akiko helped out with that one.

Just like the album. Do you like a walk? is still pleasant, haven't really listened to the other songs since I checked the album out. Bacically 'Do you like a walk?' was good enough to put on my mp3-player, I considered about two more songs. But I've improved my 'personal quality filter' since recently. So the songs didn't make it through. Skipping songs while biking (40-minutes-ride), with touch screen is quite a hassle, so when it's on shuffle all the songs should be good enough for any time, lol.

 Re: Tedious Man
I like a majority of it enough to keep on my iPod. Vacant House, Old Sundial, Rehabilitation, Do You Like a Walk, and that one where Sawao duos with that chick. Everything else is meh to sub-meh.

It should be a prosecutable crime that Sawao gets Kashima and can't do better than The Devil's Pub.

Tis a shame. Devil's Pub is not even close to the best on the record, for me.

Bass line was still okay, and the 'smell, smell, smell' part was kinda funny/catchy. Also it isn't as short as Vacant House and hasn't a bothersome Engrish for me.

 Re: Tedious Man
It's the na na na, I have to run away, na na na, that fearful memory that let's it down. The lyrics in the verse are nice, but the chorus is just super lazy and sucks some life out of the song. It feels like you're just... sitting through na na nas.
