I started that topic. Oh yes.

i'd like to point out that in the ROSS video, manabe is using a Fender Strat and not an ESP. if you look closely at the headstock, you can make out the D in the logo. plus, if it were the ESP, the logo would be in bold letters.

also, manabe did use a ESP thinline. you can see it in the halley's comet video. but as kelp pointed out to me, it was probably a guitar that he used only in live shows (perhaps a few live shows?) back in the early days. also, in the Walkin' dvd, when they show footage of them playing "You Are" live, he is using some white guitar that kinda looks like a strat or a tele or something else altogether.

as for the gibsons, its very hard to tell if they are really gibsons. in the daydream wonder video, he is moving around too much to make out the logo on the head. same with the tiny boat video. but i think i can give it to that video because on LP customs, the logos are mother-of-pearl (?) and thus would be more vivid. as well as that trapazoid inlay.

lastly, you kinda forgot Kashima's gear. all i have is that he played with a sunburst Fender Jazz with rosewood fret board and block inlays reminisant of the 70's Jazz basses. also, in a picture that kelp posted on the old forum, he played with, and it might have been in a live show only, with what looked to culen, based on the clay dotmarkers, as he said, like a pre-CBS Fender P-Bass.

Kashima has too many bass guitars to name. While with the pillows, he was seen primarily with a 70's Jazz Bass and a 60's Pre-CBS P-Bass. He also kicked around a Musicman Stingray later on towards the end of his run with the pillows. Back to the P-Bass though, I must warn you that it being Pre-CBS is speculation. But keep in mind that Kashima's a studio musician, so it's a good bet that it's all original shit. Kashima played through a Gallien-Krueger head and pair of 4x10 cabinets.

Manabe played that ESP Thinline [b]exstensively[/b] during their early years. Trust me on this one. And if he was playing it at live shows, it's a sure bet that he also recorded with it at some point. Kelp is out of his mind.

i also forgot to mention that he (kashima) used a stand-up acoustic bass. you can hear it perfectly in "Sunday" and a few other songs in "Living Field."

string bass is so cool.

He probably played some type of old Kay upright.

I figured out what that tube labeled "Speed King SK-05" is. It's Finger board spray. He also has his Sobbat A/B breaker.

Was that picture was taken at Knitting Factory?

any ideas on what bass(es) kenji ueda might have used? i couldn't tell from that live footage of "You Are" on the walkin' dvd. the upper horn looked like a carvin bass. but theres tons of basses that have that same horn shape...

Kenji played Warwick and Peavey basses.

No, that's from San fran.

Umm...I know that she has a Blues Driver in her hands. There's also a Boss TU-12 Chromatic Tuner and some sort of equalizer. I'm not good at this stuff.

EDIT: I think the green thing may be a Maxon OD808 Overdrive.
