That's the route I took. I stopped playing because Werewolves bored me. Also: That game's "missions" take HELLA long to complete. Oh what's this? You just want to go into a castle and talk to the lord of the domain? You better clear 8 hours of your time if you want to get that far.
That probably would frustrate me, except that the quests themselves tend to be a lot of fun. Great dungeon design sure helps things. Shale is awesome, by the way. By far my favorite bruiser character in the game. Although pretty much everyone except Wynne is pretty interesting. Oh yeah, I named my dog Beowölf. Best dog name ever, right?

Re: What are you playing?
Picked up Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection the other day, mostly for the the Dissidia DLC since it was surprisingly inexpensive. (Also I am a whore for that game and can't stand not having every single bit of DLC)
I've mostly just been playing The After Years, so far it's pretty fun, but I can already tell there's going to be some serious useless character overkill. Two chapters in and my party members have included two nameless mages and a set of living dolls. Not a bad effort for a Virtual console game, and certainly better than the direct sequels to 10 and 12, but it does share all the same strengths and weaknesses of the first game.
I'm also really looking forward to the shitloads of optional boss fight, though I wish they'd have added some more robust dungeons, I really enjoyed Dawn of Souls for precisely that reason.
"]Mass Effect 2.
Late reply, but this is an appropriate response to that awesome, awesome game. I got most of the way through it on 360, but it was on my eating club's console, and so now I have to actually play through it on my PC if I want to beat it (it's fine, I fucking pre-ordered that shit anyway, but I want to play through ME1 a second time to get my lady Shepard as badass as possible before importing her to ME2).

Re: What are you playing?
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It's a hell of a lot better than vanilla mvc3, much less random/scrub-friendly.
And I did reserve Skyward Sword but I'm not sure if I can afford to pick it up yet...

Re: What are you playing?
So, against my better judgment, started playing Dragon Age 2. Going in expecting the shittiest game I'll ever play in my entire life has made it mildly enjoyable. I like the interactions between the party members and, to be honest, that's probably the only reason I'm still playing. Dragon Age 2 was probably the worst they could have done for a sequel to Origins. I feel like somewhere, someone in an alternate universe is going "Man, I bet there's an alternate universe where Dragon Age 2 is one of the worst sequels ever, brah, but I'm sure as hell glad it isn't in this universe." Well, fuck you alternate universe guy. DA2 is so awful. You go through the same handful of dungeons a million times, there's no real storyline, it's like playing a bunch of DLC packs in one game, the Qunari and their holy war is just kind of offensive, the choices you are given are basically "Do you want to say this in: a nice way, sarcastic way, or dickish way?" and overall the actual choices are so few and far between that I want to play it again just to see if it'd be possible for your choices to have a significant impact on the game or if it just pigeonholes you into the same ending no matter what. WHAT'S THAT, OH, YOU DON'T WANT TO KILL ALL THE DALISH ELVES? WELL, TOO BAD, YOU HAVE TO WIPE OUT THEIR ENTIRE ENCAMPMENT.
I really, really hope Dragon Age 3 goes back to being like Origins. Hell, I just hope it's an improvement over 2. If they manage to make an even worse sequel with 3, I'll be impressed. I don't think there's any game that's ever taken such a huge step back from its original incarnation. The people who made this game should be fired, honestly. It's shit. Just utter shit. I'm going to force myself to play through it just because I like the companion characters, but other than that, I don't think there's anything redeeming about this game besides how cool some of the battle animations look as a blood mage.

Re: What are you playing?
The real question is why you're playing DA2 and not Skyrim.

Re: What are you playing?
Because I may or may not have not purchased DA2 whereas I'd rather actually buy Skyrim but do not have the money for it as of yet.

FF12. Another game I started and then never finished. Right now I don't really care much about the characters but somehow I'm compelled to keep playing. Soon to be accompanied by Professor Layton and the Last Specter.

The only nonlinear thing was the bounty system and it was mostly time consuming and boring, save a few like the Gilgamesh fight. I don't even remember anything of the story of FFXII because it was so bland. Nice environments though.
