I think the next guitar I buy (the second electric lol) will be either a Thinline or Deluxe Tele, though I'm also open to a Jazzmaster, as they are also very sexy.

Hotter pickups, new bridge, thinner neck, better string break angle for sustain. There's nothing "Classic" about it, but the practical improvements sound interesting. I don't know if the "hotter pickups" are really necessary though. It's a Jazzmaster. If you want to trick it out, DIY.

I'd have to try it out next to a normal Jazzmaster to have any clue, I didn't recall the neck on the few Jazzmasters I've tried being as annoyingly thick as, say, a Les Paul is for my hands, but if I got a Jazzmaster instead of another Tele, it'd be to get something that plays/sounds/feels different, so it does sound pretty interesting. This is all months off or more, though, I first have to get my Tele set up and my Blues Driver repaired.

However, I gotta say Prince is pretty cool, and he's also a beastin' guitar player. So no knocks on the Prince guitar. Probably right on the "douchebag" scale, with the Fly and Steinberger. So true about the Thinline Tele, Rics and the like. But I can't place that last guitar! What is it?

What kind of pickups do you have in your Tele? Is it the stock MIM?
