Re: 2011 NAP tour media

Ice Pick would be sweet, it was my favorite part about the Takasaki set (other than the epic One Life guitar pick get lolol). I think we'll have to pick like three or four songs they would be unlikely to play to all team up on getting played, which could be hard, but maybe we could do a poll of some sort here to figure out which are the four most popular track requests for the forum and all agree to bombard them with those tracks?
A thread where we all put 4 songs we would like to hear, after some time, we count every song posted and make a list of the ones that were most requested by the posters
Yeah, we've done similar when we attempted to get a list of songs requested for covering I believe it was. I know how to go about making it happen, I was more interested in seeing if people were interested in the idea, lol.

I was still requesting Ice Pick at NYC, I knew they wouldn't play it but maybe for the next tour, they'll throw some more oldies in.
But I'm happy with Carnival and Swanky Street!
NYC got a pretty sweet setlist.
I'll still be pissed off about Swanky though. Its like the pillows walked away with another woman!
The poll thing would be a neat idea. I would like to see these results.

Re: 2011 NAP tour media
The more I think about requests, I think it would be cool (more probable in Japan of course) for them to do one of those shows where they play one of their albums in it's entirety. I would kill for a concert of PML all the way through.

Re: 2011 NAP tour media
They play albums all the way through for album tours, lol. I think it makes more sense for a band to do something like that when they have enough of a lull in their output to fit such a thing in there, but with albums and singles always dropping throughout each year, the pillows always have something current to tour for. Their equivalent of that was the LGTY tour.
My bf bought a guitar for Manabe. He gave it to him after we saw them in LA.
He got 90's My Life signed as well.
I remember seeing him give it to Manabe right after I talked with Manabe. I thought he gave Manabe a cheap guitar, but a mustang wow. The problem is Manabe will probably never play a mustang again, I remember reading he is tried of it and how so many Japanese guitarist use one. That is a really cool gift.

I think they only do this when it is a new album. BORN AGAIN tour = HORN AGAIN album ect.

But it is already given, and even if he never plays it, he was surely grateful. It's a completely new era they are living in, and PML doesn't apply to current life. Even then, I'm not sure they'd be able to play it with the same spirit and charisma as then.

I think that's the best way to go about it. We got quite a while until we can put it into action, but if we IMers can all agree on a few songs, and then specifically vote for said songs, that would be both amazing and perfect.

Better idea. Officially endorse Instant Music in the "Info" section. Make it happen.

I'm sure he would add it to his collection and play it at home, but most likely not for recording and live use.

I told the bf this and he was without a doubt disappointed. He believes Manabe totally owned that mustang and the sound it produced. Seeing in on stage with it is really empowering and inspiring. Best guitar humps as well were made with it.

I'm sure the gift left an impression on Manabe and hopefully when he sees the guitar, or hell, even plays it, he remembers all the invisible fans he's never met, but touched. If this message gets to him, then the gift did its job.

lol, inb4 Manabe opens his Yahoo! Japan auctions to help Yamanaka make more money on top of what Comic Sonic garnered.

Re: 2011 NAP tour media
Har. Can someone tell me again why Japan has such a huge boner for Fender offsets? Pretty much all of the Delicious Label bands have rocked Jaguars, Mustangs, and Cyclones at one point in time. Manabe even played the oh-so-democratic Squier Jag HH for a time. Offsets aren't...cheaper in Japan...are they? I mean I guess a CIJ Jazzmaster and Jaguar are cheaper than the AVRIs... (but this preference should change, now that the modern-styled "Classic Player" Jazz/Jags exist now...
Anyone?
