>_> I'd be down a lot of body parts of that was required, since I've seen him three times in the last two years.

And I had been completely and utterly unaware of Weezer's memories tour, otherwise I would have gone to at least one of the shows here :(

Three times, how difficult is it to get tickets for his shows?

Weezer's tour was great, first set was greatest hits kind of thing, then they played the blue album in its entirety. Rivers was running around the audience during the first set, he got so close to me I actually backed away.

We got tickets during pre-sales all three times, so can't quite say for sure, but don't think it was too difficult. Certainly wasn't cheap, though, think it was nearly $125 a ticket for the Vegas show. Guess tickets were in demand though. All the shows were sold out. And had ended up with an extra pair of tickets for Vegas that did sell really fast on short notice - put them up on craigslist for $100 each a day before and sold them the morning of the show.

Saw him at the Hollywood Bowl last year since he only announced that and a couple other places first and absolutely didn't want to miss him. And then saw him the second time a couple months later when he played up here at AT&T Park. Nearly 3 hours of not much else but Beatles songs and the best of Wings' catalog.

Koo Koo Kangaroo is this wacky, overly enthusiastic, overly kiddy band, but they are hilarious live and really get the audience pumped. Looking them up on youtube or listening to their albums is kind of really meh because the lyrics and songs are super simple and super kiddy, but live? They get you moving and dancing and singing to songs that you didn't know of until they started playing it right then and there. It was super fun and high energy.
Koo Koo Kangaroo are from my area. They're so silly, but yeah, fun live. Did they have the parachute with them when you saw them?

My last show was Keren Ann. Very good. Next will be Olivia Tremor Control with the Music Tapes opening, yeah! :shred:
I don't think they had a parachute. It was hard to pay attention to the set, they were making us dance too hard.

That does not sound too bad, last year I went to see Rush and I paid $117 for my ticket. It was an incredible show.

Outside Lands last night was awesome :D

Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys were both great, and Muse put on an awesome performance. I'd seen them twice already on their Resistance tour, so the highlights were definitely Butterflies and Hurricanes + Citizen Erased. They're a band that I think, much like the pillows, could pretty much choose their set list randomly from their discography and put on a spectacular show, so it was definitely welcome to hear a pair of older semi-rarities.

Now next up is the pillows ;)

Last big show i saw was Mayhem tour. Very metal. Glad I could see Megadeth kick ass again. I HATED Godsmack and Disturbed played a hell of a visual show. Was impressed.

Last GIG i saw was 2 days ago at work. I work downtown so i see most of em after i leave work which is pretty nice. From blues, alternative rock, to metal.

I'll probably go to Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan in October.
That would be my first show actually.
I'm excited.

Decided somewhat spontaneously to go see Hot Bodies in Motion at Nuemos last night. Was not disappointed. They're a local Seattle band that play some of the most amazing funk/blues groove rock music I have heard in a long time. They're also super talented musicians. Very enjoyable and high quality music…for only $12! I was very happy. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbczNafHrhE, if anyone's curious)

Next up is Dream Theater on Tuesday! :D

Post Re: The Last Show you Went to/Next Show you will Go to
On Friday night I saw Ling Tosite Sigure for the second time. Unlike the first concert almost two years ago this was a one-man show with a long setlist. As usual, the band sounded amazing. The sound quality was awesome. The guitar was clear most of the time, the drums sounded huge and ominous, and Miyoko's thundering bass literally rocked the floor.

1. Telecastic Fake Show
2. Souzou no Security
3. Cool J
4. Disco Flight
5. I was music
6. Knife Vacation
7. A Symmetry
8. New song (think TK said it was called "X" or something.)
9. Hakai yo no Yume
10. moment A rhythm
11. Aki Kioku no Arpeggio
12. Illusion Is Mine
13. Azayakana Satsujin
14. Jpop Xfile
15. Nakano Kill You
-Nakano Drum Blast
16. Kankaku UFO

- Miyoko talks about Sigure towel and notebook.

17. Boukan

PA (three new instrumental songs by Sigure or TK. All are beautiful.)

A couple of observations:

- Sigure fans are extremely attractive people. Prettier than Bloodthirsty Butchers' fans. Much prettier than people at Morioka's Ishigaki music festival.
- The venue (Morioka Club Change Wave) is small and very nice, with great sound.
- The reverb on Nakano's drums sounded amazing. His playing sounds amazing. Without the compressed mixing of the albums, he sounds far more ferocious live.
- The band plays with laser precision. They didn't miss a note, and the vocals were spot-on despite the demanding nature of their style.
- The band is incredibly fun to watch. The way that Miyoko and TK sway and thrash around while playing is completely different from punk/hardcore/metalcore/screamo/post-hardcore bands and their predictable moves.
- Hearing tracks like Cool J, Knife Vacation, moment A rhythm, and Kankaku UFO were highlights.
- The climax of Kankaku UFO was the most chaotic, violent musical moment of my life. Truly incredible.
- I now have a 'VIRGIN KILLER SUICIDE' t-shirt. Totally worth the ridiculous price of 3500 yen.
- Best of all, I attended this concert for free because my friend got me a ticket from another friend of hers who bought it but couldn't go. Killer deal.
