But yeah. In all seriousness, what will it take for Sawao to be our gentleman? :(((

The chances of them playing anything pre-Little Busters is basically nil. We'd be lucky to get One Life.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Guys, I was talking with my Avex contact and the management is open to suggestions on how to better promote this tour. There's not much time left (silly that they ask now), but I/they are open to suggestions. Remember I am not working for them, so I haven't gone suggesting they do some crazy shit this time around, and it's not like what I pass on will make a huge difference (BUT remember those new DVD sub titles??). I gave them a few ideas that I've been pushing them on since 2009, but I figured we could brain storm a little on this board since you are the cream of the crop when it comes to pillows fans right?? Let's discuss! ...And I'm noticing your varied setlist requests on the thread here. I've been trying hard to have them accept a fan voting campaign on the FB page that would allow us to vote for non-FLCL songs. That could put a new promotional twist to this tour and get a few new heads to come out, huh?
The late announcement of the tour dates just doesn't help. What's done is done, but it does takes time for word to spread and for people to save up money to go. Anyway, I like the idea of being able to vote for songs as well. Maybe a good promotion would be to offer to give away an autographed CD or shirt at each show. It might generate some more interest. Can't think of anything else right now.

Yeah, I sorta wish I knew longer than less than a month before hand... Probably even less since the Austin show was the last one I heard about before the official tour page...

I just really don't know who else besides users of this forum would even know that they're coming to the US. It's not like they're guests at some convention. It's not like their Boris and have a huge following. Animenewsnetwork.com hasn't written anything about it (though I don't know if that's THE place for j-rock musicians featured in anime news). I guess their Facebook page is a good way to get the word out. They should like, send a private message to all of the people who "liked" the pillows page.

Less people = better for us = not better for them
But fuck it, it's better for us

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Fan voting officially a no-go, there's not enough time. Looks like I got their attention this year tho... if there is a next tour, we're hooking it up. You can thank me later But I've expressed fan interest in hearing standard non-FLCL songs, so we'll see. I can only make so many requests before I start sounding like an annoying fan boy. Integrity is important here. I've reached out to sites like animenewsnetwork.com, tokyohive.com and jpopasia with the news, and it could help things if you guys did the same to the sites/local music blogs that you follow. Terra is correct, late announcements hurt. I'm going to Cabo on Saturday for a week and I could have used more time for outreach When I get back it's already show time. Get your friends out to these shows, peeps, how many more times are they going to do this?? We need lots of support at these gigs.

This is also what I'm wondering. But from what you said about fan votes next time, they're obviously not ruling out more tours, right?

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Indeed. There's absolutely nothing about this tour that gives any indication of a "last time". I'd say it only does the opposite and further confirms that they intend to continue regularly coming to the US as long as they continue having good turnouts at the shows.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
I think what scares people, myself included, is their age. Obviously Sawao doesn't care, but we've all heard how Shin doesn't like traveling by plane that much. This wouldn't seem to matter now though since they're flying out to NY and Austin. If this was 1999, things would be different I think, but we have to take what we can get.
That being said, I still can't help but wish they could plan something bigger. Go back to Chicago and Mexico. Maybe hit up Vancouver or another Canadian city. I'm sure money comes into play, but expanding the tour by a few cities shouldn't be that unreasonable. I think a 10-city tour for the band would most definitely be worthwhile.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
I don't think they need much more promotion, the shows I have went to have been packed. And this year with the facebook page plenty of more people will know, so I am not looking forward to the crowd.
Fan voting officially a no-go, there's not enough time.
Well could IM vote for lets say 5 songs we want, and you send it in to your contact? I think everyone would agree that if they just played Swanky Street and Strange Chameleon, and whatever else they wanted we would be quite happy. It seems like the only way to get their attention is to push a bit. Keep up the emails guys, maybe our only chance of getting a fresh setlist. I really don't want to hear the same songs from last year. deliciouslabel@gmail.cominfo@pillows.jpmessage@pillows.jp

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
This link was posted on the facebook for the tickets to the Austin show... I am now officially confused... On the Nap Utatane tour page the Speakeasy show says it's "All ages" but on this site it says "21+." I hope that's a mistake considering I'm only 20... http://fla.vor.us/1104930-NAP-UTATANE-T ... -2011.html

I don't see anything indicating 21+...
