Post Re: the pillows - The Thesis

A point of interest: specific choices Sawao et al have made in regards to intent behind the writing correlate pretty directly with what the Western fans generally agree upon as turning points in quality.
Does this come in a less-esoteric variety?
I think it's a long winded way of saying: Sawao made a bunch of junk songs (Pied Piper, OOPARTS, Horn Again). US fans think they're shit.

Post Re: the pillows - The Thesis
Manabe deciding to focus on supporting Sawao's songwriting and bringing Sawao's songs and ideas to their best occurred at Strange Chameleon, the single that saved their career. After My Foot, the first album after which a majority of this board seemed to really feel like there was a noticeable lack of quality in songs, Sawao specifically started writing focused towards the audience and with a particular goal of stylistic blending.
