Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
I couldn't possibly afford to go to the west coast on this short of notice. I miss them everytime they're in the states, damn.

Aww yay! Definitely going to the Seattle show. I was just wistfully thinking about how much I want to see them again. Anyone else going to the Seattle date from Portland?

Just bought my ticket.
So who's all going to the Seattle show, given that there probably won't be a Portland show?
GR, Lostman, Orochi, Camio, anyone else?

SF. I live on the Daly City border, all of a 15 minute drive to Slims ;o
Well, probably double that trying to get in via the 101 just after rush hour >_>

On the other hand, El Corazon is such a fucking dump. I've been there once before: super sketchy, and did not leave a good impression by any means. =/
the pillows only ever seem to play sketch-fests in the U.S. I guess they just don't have the popularity to fill any major venues in the U.S.
When they came to LA in 2008, they played at the El Rey, and that venue was great. Most certainly not a sketch-fest. But yeah, then they went to slims, which was...dirty? Oh well. I hope they come to LA, but I'd like to go to Seattle anyways, just to visit, so maybe I'll see them there.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
Granted, I don't have a ton of experience to compare to, but I'd say Slims is.... run of the mill for a small music club. I guess you could probably say "dirty" or at least sparse/bare bones, but it also does work itself at a disadvantage by priding itself as an all-ages venue while most other clubs in SF are 21+ and make a lot of their money via alcohol sales. There probably are other places in the city where the pillows would be able to book, but I think one of the big reasons they keep coming back to Slims is because they can play an all-ages show without a hassle.

Re: New US Pillows Tour. (Seattle date confirmed)
So the only shows announced are in Seattle and SF?
They wouldn't come all the way to the US just to play two shows, would they?

Well, they're only shows that we know of. Nothing's been "announced" yet. GR found a listing for the Seattle show, and then I started keeping my eye on the site for the club they always play in SF until something went up there.
They did come all the way to the US just to play two shows (LA and SF) a year and a half ago, so... yes, they would >_> However, since we're just over 5 weeks out from the two shows and they've yet to officially announce the tour, logic would dictate that they're probably still in process of trying to book shows.

Were you not here during the more or less pointless Schwarzenegger-only tour?
IIRC, not only was the tour limited to California, but most of the bands weren't even the pillows.
