The last show I've been to was Linkin Park when they came through MSG. Good show, never was a fan but they performed really well.

Reel Big Fish put on a great show, and I've heard very good things about Streetlight Manifesto, sounds like a really fun show.

I've been watching live videos of them and RBF seem hilarious live. Streetlight seems like they put a shit ton of energy into their performances. Especially their sax player. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXGInUeE_Zw&feature=fvst Look at that mother fucker. So energetic. (The bearded one is who I mean, btw.)

I saw the Strokes and Linken Park at BFD in Mountain View California not too long ago. It was a nice show not so exciting cause I had lawn tickets but it was still chill. I'm going to see Mac Miller perform at Rock the Bells at the same place in Mountain View and later on I'll get to see Arcade Fire, MGMT, ARCTIC MONKEYS, Girl Talk, and so much more at this years OUTSIDE LANDS.

Reel Big Fish is kind of a bunch of wash-ups, I wouldn't get too excited.
Streetlight, on the other hand, is always great live. Seen them probably like 4 times now, and they're awesome every time.

The last show I've seen would have to be Rush, iirc. The next show I'm going to see will be Mr. Big on August 24th. I'm excited.

RBF was sweet. Bummed that Scott's no longer with them, but they were still pretty good and put on a fun show.

Streetlight Manifesto? They were fan-fucking-tastic. Never have I ever had the urge to mosh, but seeing the kids in the pit, half moshing, half skanking, combined with the energy the music was giving me, I was super close to actually going in.

Post Re: The Last Show you Went to/Next Show you will Go to
Sorry for the double post, but I saw Koo Koo Kangaroo and, more importantly, The Aquabats on Saturday. Best. Concert. Ever.

Koo Koo Kangaroo is this wacky, overly enthusiastic, overly kiddy band, but they are hilarious live and really get the audience pumped. Looking them up on youtube or listening to their albums is kind of really meh because the lyrics and songs are super simple and super kiddy, but live? They get you moving and dancing and singing to songs that you didn't know of until they started playing it right then and there. It was super fun and high energy.

The Aquabats were the best thing ever and I've felt somewhat depressed the last two days because the concert was so good that I wish I could just relive it forever. They played for, I think, 2 hours or so, and it was just amazing. They did a lot of new stuff but they did quite a bit of older stuff, too. They were full of life, which I was worried might be a problem, since they've been around since the mid 90s and are getting a little bit older.

Anyway, I don't think most people on IM would care for the Aquabats music at all, but I just want to sort of give a breakdown of their live performance. Peelander Z is often compared to them as their Japanese twin. Before coming out on stage, they showed a clip of each individual member singing an "Ah!" that eventually turned into a five-part harmony, before they started flying through the galaxy and destroying planets.

They're a super hero band and do live stage fights. One of which involved them beating up a golden idol of Buddha along with the evil Tibetan monks who summoned him (GOLD IS THE HARDEST METAL KNOWN TO MAN!) and the other fight involved MC Bat Commander, the singer, getting frozen and being thawed out by the rest of the band hugging him.

Something else that was pretty sweet they did was they had two kids from the audience (a lot of their fanbase has been with them since the original days, grown up with them, and bring their kids to the shows because, save for when they tour with people like Reel Big Fish who love to cuss, there's not much that's child inappropriate save for the cartoon violence) come up on stage, introduce themselves, split the crowd down the middle, get into teams, and then crowd-surf-race on swim toys.

The show was sponsored by the cartoon channel The Hub. They picked up the Aquabats Super Show for 13 episodes. The Aquabats have been trying to get a show for the last 12 or 13 years and have had a lot of bad luck, including two networks picking them up, one getting bought out by Disney, and the other having the executives who took them on fired. Now they finally have a show and the full backing support of a network. The network went through a lot of effort to make their show great, including promotional stickers and decorations everywhere, cardboard cutouts of the band, an ice sculpture of their mascot, and free t-shirts for everyone in the audience. You can tell the band was truly grateful for finally having this opportunity. They thanked two of the executives at the end of the show and you could feel the emotion in the singer's voice, even though he was doing his usual wacky sort of thing. Most, if not all the members, have been working other jobs while being in the band, and now they're getting the chance to be a band full time, which means, hopefully, the future is nothing but up for them.

Anyway, the show was so fucking good. I skanked my ass off during the ska-ish songs and jumped until I nearly passed out during the rest. I rarely go to shows, but I really doubt any that I go to will surpass this, because of how great it was. There wasn't a super huge crowd either, so, it was nice and intimate. All the people at the show were really cool, funny, and friendly. Positive vibes were felt throughout the crowd. It was pretty amazing.

Koo Koo Kangaroo are from my area. They're so silly, but yeah, fun live. Did they have the parachute with them when you saw them?

My last show was Keren Ann. Very good. Next will be Olivia Tremor Control with the Music Tapes opening, yeah! :shred:

Last show for me was Paul Motherfucking McCartney in Vegas a couple months ago.

I'll also be out Outside Lands this weekend. Primarily for Muse, even though there's a .01% chance that they actually play any rare Origin of Symmetry songs here on its 10th Anniversary :( Also really pumped for The Black Keys and Arctic Monkeys.
