 Re: Song Relationships
The intro of Ame Ni Utaeba reminds me of the intro of Love Will Tear Us Apart of Joy Division.

Five for Fighting: Superman ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRz4FY0ZcwI#t=33s) the pillows: Boku wa Outsider (from 0:57) Is anyone else reminded of Superman's little melody when they hear the chorus of Boku wa Outsider?

 Re: Song Relationships
Little Busters (Redeux) - All you need is love (The Beatles) "love, love, love . . . etc." (you can hear it in the background in LB from 0:50, though I'm not sure if he's singing love, love, love or la, la, la)

I don't think so. I think your getting this notion from the build up they both share. Other than that they sound nothing alike.

No, they don't sound alike at all. It just reminds me of it, the build up like you said.

That one doesn't surprise me, Sawao's said before that he was a fan of Smash Mouth.

Is that right? It looks like TYMT came out a year after that Smash Mouth album. I really do wonder if he knows the song...

 Re: Song Relationships
Not that this is a shocker or anything, but I noticed a while ago that the bassline from Back Seat Dog is very similar to the one in Here Comes Your Man (Pixies). This is HIGHLY LIKELY a conscious reference to the Pixies' track, as you can actually hear Sawao sing "Here Comes Your Mann~" at the end. And Happy Bivouac has a song called Kim Deal. Yeah, again, totally a no-brainer. But just incase you didn't catch the similarity: http://soundcloud.com/lentic/here-comes ... ckseat-dogIt sounds like Jun basically took the general melody, and changed the ending of it up a little bit.

 Re: Song Relationships
There are also probably pillows fans that don't listen to the Pixies.

 Re: Song Relationships
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=borwYU3GEb4The chord progression for the verse kind of sounds like the one from Bran New Love Song. It sucks when your tape player adapter breaks for your car and you have to listen to the radio. ;[ When this song comes on, I'm always like "lolol Bran New Love Song." then I'm like "ohwaitnevermind."
